While I appreciate Abbas Ali's tremendous talent, he's nowhere near Raja Hasan for this song. The alaap portion was simply wrong. The feeling with which such devoltional songs are sung was also missing. Of course, the original by A R Rahman is the best because this is a song for different singers, and its true beauty is not captured by a single singer.

haji ali is a sufi saint,there shrine is situated in mumbai india,thousands of devotees of the sufi saint visit there daily.the shrine is surrounded by water,but the water doesnt flood the shrine.this is a miricle.

Ali Abbas has sung this [technically] better than Raja Hasan from SRGMP 2k7 but Raja Hasan's voice is more suited to this genre of music. Also, Raja Hasan sung this at a higher scale which is why his voice cracked at one point and there was a lot of strain in his voice; however, Ali Abbas stayed safe and sung this slightly lower. Ali Abbas has the some voice quality as Amanat ..... very soft and pleasant on the ears. No stress at all and makes one sleepy.
