Why do BMXers, skateboarders, inline skaters, etc. never wear helmets?! I don't get it! I've grown up inline skating and riding bikes and have always worn a helmet. I'm glad I did. I could have very well been in Mike's position at least once before, if not several times. No matter how dorky people think it is, it's not cool to not to wear a helmet!

@TheSundaynite Actually, being in a coma and coming out of it is not the same as being paralyzed. If he broke his neck and/or back that could have resulted in him being paralyzed. You can relearn to walk, speak, etc. after coming out of a coma. After severely damaging your spinal cord from a neck/back injury, most likely you will be paralyzed for life. Think before you speak you "dumb fuck." Bottom line, he should have had a helmet on.

I look up to this guy now, in 2005 i hit my head on ice while jumping my snowboard. I was in the hospital for 11 days and got 3 skull fractures. i am now 100% deaf in my right ear, and know what it feels like to not be able to move with out getting dizzy or throwing up, i am now going to wear my helmet everytime i get on my bike. Thanks Mike Aitken for being an inspiration to millions!
