@atavener if u look at ending credits of early simpsons they always have brad bird as some production consultant. anyway iron giant is my fav brad bird movie
Hey Dreamworks: you should learn from Pixar. Caucsian attempts at hip hop humor, fart jokes, and dated slang with A-list celebrities do NOT make a winning formula. Stop putting the marketing lizards in charge of your CREATIVE projects. Do like Pixar and put the WRITERS in charge!
Disney should be bloody grateful that they have Pixar's talent. Disney can't produce anything vaguely original or anything that isn't geared entirely towards kids.
I love Brad Bird! He's a genius! I'm glad he won the Award for Best Animated Feature: The Incredibles! Bird did a good job with The Iron Giant, The Incredibles, and Ratatouille! I'm gonna go work at PIXAR one dau and maybe one day I'll win an award for best animated film like Brad Bird and John Lasseter! Two of my heroes next to Walt Disney and Don Bluth!
while they both lost to other films, i think monsters inc. deserved the oscar more than cars did. it's a superior film in all aspects. i'd even rank monsters inc. a notch higher than wall-e.
No offence to all fans of Happy Feet; but I thought it was a good movie with a good environmental message. Except I don't think it deserved the oscar, Cars should have gotten it. I hate when Oscar people choose animated films only for adults to enjoy more than family friendly type. After that year, I stopped watching the Oscars in protest. But I am still glad that Cars got the Golden Globe for Best Animated Feature. I got nothing against THe Incredibles since I believed it deserved the award.
monsters inc destroys shrek im sorry but shrek is not as good as critics have made it out to be, def one of the greatest evr but no where near as high as people rank it
i also like less crude comedy in my animation unless im watching something like adult swim
Correction. 'A Scanner Darkly' was robbed (it came out the same year, and though it made the short list of eligible animated films, wasn't nominated).
This whole separate "animated feature" Oscar really makes me angry. "The Incredibles" SHOULD have been nominated for Best Picture. It is, to be honest, bullshit. Animated films are getting easier and easier to execute, and now it is all about story and acting, which "The Incredibles" had in spades.
Yeah, okay. But let's say they did away with the Best Animated Feature category and then failed to nominate something like this for Best Picture, which they almost certainly would. The last one was Beauty and the Beast, nearly 20 years ago. At least this way, a genius like Brad Bird is guaranteed an Oscar.
One of the best animated films of all time, and thank you Steve. Without you, Pixar would have been done in a year. R.I.P

Pixar's kicking some serious butt in the animated Oscar genre. Wall-E, Incredibles, Toy Story. They're leaving everyone in the dust.

Agreed 100%. I liked Happy Feet ok, but Cars truly is a masterpiece. And it's got Paul Newman in it- you just don't turn down Paul Newman.

I don't know. Like I really didn't enjoy Cars. It might just didn't really appeal tom. I do love the Incredibles. My brother loves cars though.

This time around was a lovely speech from Brad. And it was an amazing film from him.
But the speech he gave when he won for Ratatouille just tops this one by far!! Please upload that one! I would love to relive that moment!
