Yeah, I prefer Ginger and Mary-Ann to the other two, one girl had a very annoying voice XP the pilot's called "Marooned" I believe, I haven't watched this in forever, so I'm not sure because most websites list that episode as "episode 0" Either way, glad they changed the actors of the girls.
Hold it! In this version, the singer mentions they were going on a "six hour ride," but everyone knows that it was a "three hour tour." Did they change it at the last minute?
From what I heared the actors who played Mary-Ann, Ginger and the Prof are not seen on the boat when Skipper first wakes up. the actors who played the Teacher and 2 Secretaries are seen in the re-done pilot. they didn't reshoot that scene they just used a clip from the first Pilot.
"Sweetened the background in post-production"? Are you freaking kidding me? It wasn't even in color and you think they added digital palm trees? That's even dumber than the song.
@timdev99 Digital hasn't been around forever, you know. :) That said, the palm trees WERE added... to the set. Potted palm trees are easy to carry around with a wagon.
I saw the strip of beach on which the Minnow was cast. It's on the Los Angeles River, right adjacent to the LA Freeway (the 405, I believe). They "sweetened" the background with palm trees in post-production.
Wow, that was a long into! Interesting, that Marianne and Ginger were secretaries working together? We thought it was interesting that both girls and the millionaires brought so many clothes and valuables on 'a three hour tour!' LOL
Notice the flag flying at half mast, as the boat is sailing out of the marina into the open sea? Filmed during the national period of mourning for the slain President Kennedy.
Ever wonder why millionaires would go for a ride in a crappy little boat like the Minnow? Were they just "slummin' it"?

I love the clip where Gilligan's bringing Skipper the coffee, or whatever's in the mug. That was so cute.

I love this dorky style of 1960's music, very lounge now. Anyone know who the singer is?

Who sings this?

@jwmellott The voice sounds to me like an uncredited Mel Blanc.

John Williams before he was famous composed this theme song. I am glad we didn't do more of this kind of stuff lol
NeuroticVows 1 year ago
@NeuroticVows I don't think John Williams had nothing to do with the theme songs to GI....He did background music for the first season...
