I just saw the footage on BBC Folk Britannia. I'm an old fogey and generally support the police (if they keep their hands off my weed), but this showed decent peaceable people being set upon in a horrible, sadistic way. This truly was police brutality.

Are you aware that Virginia Tech has a rule that individuals (other than Police) may not carry a gun on campus, even if they have state issued concealed carry permits? Cho was free to commit those murders, unopposed, in the very environment you seem to favor. One gun in any of those classrooms could have killed him, preventing further slaughter. It's the "idiots and fanatics" we need to be able to protect ourselves from. Obviously, the Police can't do it.
