  • if you've ever shot poop in your lifetime... lol

  • damn! nigga got some nice ass shoes!!

  • why does the rim look so low?

  • @qeqfe He's tall. He used to be an NBA player

  • i get it now! i just need someone to throw change at me! yussssss.

  • This is NCAA of course

  • Brown calculated that at the NCAA rule of a three-point line at 19-foot (5.8 m), 9-inches from the rim, Maravich would have averaged thirteen 3-point scores per game, lifting the player's career average to 57 points per game.

  • Maravich played before the advent of the three-point line. His long-distance shooting skill thus produced far fewer points than would have been the case in a later era. Years later, former LSU head basketball coach Dale Brown charted every college game Maravich played, taking into consideration all shots he took.

  • I think Pete Maravich would have continued in basketball possibly as a coach, not necessarily NBA, but he would've been around. Rest in peace

  • really don't think he was mediocre my opinion he was the best of all time

  • @HonoreT35 Kobe would be a VERY good coach.

His basketball IQ is very high and he plays fundamentally not physically

  • @HashedTag But at the same time his shot selection is horrendous.

  • stannecyo you play ball? you have to check this out - 50-inch-vertical[dot]com - It's a unique training plan that will def help you begin dunking without even going to the gym , it's optional!

  • Sir, don't throw money on the floor!

  • WET!

  • Brilliant

  • are you short, do you wanna grow taller ?

Here is the solution " Helpo Growth Formula "

  • is pistol pete dead and if he is how old was he

  • @bballftw42 dead short nba career...

  • lol i never learned anything from my coach in elementary school.. sadly. he benched me and i tried really hard but was just the guy who fouls people.

  • thank you sir u solve the biggest problem that i alway make without u i still shoot bricks now im a better free throw shooter and 3 pointer shooter.

too bad i never had a coach that can help me learning from the pros is better

  • @dudex408 damn I need some help with 3 point shooter, distance is too much and I seem to not have enough power in my hand to make ball reach the target..I guess I'm doing something wrong ?

  • @VoiceLegion in three i usually aim at the square in the middle and it alway bank it in im u standing in the corner u just shoot high hopefully it when in but if u keep practicing u don't have to hope for it to went in cuz u get use to it, just do the same thing to the mid range and if u think u don't have enough power just try doing push up or lift weigh and train maybe some day u could be in the NBA.

  • I sure do wish the guy/gal that posted it didn't block embedding. It would be nice if guys/gals could post this on their FB page eh.

  • good lookin out on puttin these videos up. pistol pete is one of my fav old school players to watch and to be able to learn from him step by step is cool

  • Man this video is older than me, but I still manage to learn something..

  • the most useful video in youtube !!

  • @emiltsuimunsang Undoubtely

  • THIS freakin´ changed my whole life ( in terms of basketball )...the open window IS the biggest factor of a shot....that and to have a FIX POINT (front of the rim) to focus on...before this vid, I shot ridicuosly bad shots...but that´s all past...thanks to Pete. Thanks man, RIP.

  • i can shoot with my thighs

  • R.I.P. Pistol!

  • He's very very correct!!!! i do what he teach on his clip and im shooting very well..

  • PETE IS A GREAT TEACHER

    IT WORKS WELL

  • this guy knows his stough, this helps me even though im 14 but as much as i practice it every single day for hours and hours im STILL terrible

  • same here I'm going to my school at 6;30 in the morning to practice this stuff!

  • This really help me out bc i always cover my face with the ball wheb shooting. Sometimes i make it but sometimes dont , i need to practice more

  • i can shoot with both eyes cloesed

  • i can shoot without the ball

  • @Caomusca yeah, but you dont hit, right? ^^

  • @KonkreteXXX Wrong! Of course I hit now, else I wouldnt have said that it changed my whole life^^

  • one thing about the position of the feet when shooting, a lot of nba players like kobe bryant position it a little bit facing to the right (for right handed shooters) or left (for left handed shooters) , so are they wrong?

  • @xaddict73 they shoot it sideways, mainly its a comfortable position, rather than standing straight. you just need a comfortable fit of shooting.

  • @xaddict73 it only applies if you shoot sideways

  • Im gonna say wow and then you can.

  • Players back then made a living off fundamentals. Now players use more physical means than basketball foundations. This is why even a mediocre player back then can be a great coah. Jackson, Adelman, Jerry Sloan, Lenny Wilkins all these hall of famer coaches. Watch after 20 years, when the current players become coaches, we will have poorer game strategy, defense, management of players and just more 1on1s. Can you imagine Kobe, Carmelo, AI, Shaq, as coaches?

  • @HonoreT35 actually kobe is one of the most fundamentaly based player in the nba... just look at his jumpshot, the way he dribbles, moves, play D, and run plays... he might b da most fundamentaly sound player in the nba along with ray allen, and tim duncan. I would love to have kobe as my coach. Trust me, watch him play now, he aint that fast or strong. but still he destroys defenders

  • @HonoreT35 lol.

id love to see shaq be a coach. his players will be getting fouled and hell be like "that wasn't a foul! no free throws!!!!!!!!!!!!"

  • @HonoreT35 Kobe would be a great Coach and Shaq but everyone else would be ass

  • @HonoreT35 imagine lebron as a coach

"listen, its ok to take at LEAST 10 steps before you shoot"

  • @sabbathgodsofmetal haha, the downfall of any basketball standard as we know it. "Just take a fadeaway!"

  • @HonoreT35 I can imagine Kobe as a good coach because he's such a student of the game. He goes to older players and learns their techniques. He also benefited from being coached by Phil Jackson and learning the triple post offense, which forces a player to increase his/her basketball IQ because of how situational the offense and how few static plays are ever called. I see this as an anti-kobe person! Just trying to be objective!

  • @emomagica Good comments but there is more to coaching than making plays or teaching basketball IQ. As a coach you must be able to manage your players, their emotions, their pettiness, and nurture them, and have them listen to you and trust you. A good coach must be able to reach his players. The recent meltdown of the Lakers 4-0 sweep shows that Kobe could not reach Pau to motivate him or neutralize the thugness of Artest, Odom, and Bynum who basically threw the game away.

  • @HonoreT35 I don't think it's fair to blame Kobe for the foolishness of his teammates. Only Artest, Odom, and Bynum should be held responsible for their immature thuggery. Coaches can only do so much. I was so happy to see the Lakers go down 0-4! I think Kobe has leaned a ton from Jackson. Jackson basically taught him how to think about the game. I would be shocked to see Kobe coaching when he's in his 50's.

  • @HonoreT35 actually kobe has one of the highest basketball IQ in the history of the game....

  • @k6mi Number one is Jordan of course and 2 Larry Bird and 3 Johnson

  • @HonoreT35 Kobe would make an amazing coach actually

  • @HonoreT35 Here's what people forget. He is a Coach's son and was around a lot of basketball greats during his early life (e.g., Dad was good friends with John Wooden, knew the Globetrotters, etc). The sad this is that they died 9 months apart. Basketball fundamentals were his life. He just happened to be more athletic than most. He also ate, drank and slept basketball. I have one concern when people say guys like Kobe would make great coaches since they see the game at a much different level.

  • @HonoreT35 I think this has got to with the cultural change of the society. After all the NBA needs to make money and so do the players and teams, as well as the coaches. How? They must then attract as many audiences as possible, and nowadays audiences like to watch 1on1s and body clashing and all that. They wouldn't care if you are using the right mechanics to shoot or not, what they want is entertainment after all.

  • @msnmsn20091. I always say if your momma listens to this, they will listen to this. But if your momma don't, well... Most guys will listen to their momma. I had the same situation with an Ethiopian kid when I was trying to teach him to play tennis. Talk to their momma and if your momma likes you, you are okay. If not, trouble.

  • Read the book " Pistol."

He is the most under-rated played in NBA history.

  • He could have caught those last two coins, missed them purposely I bet.

  • Pete should be my trainer in 10yrs, R.I.P.

  • this is the best sony vegas effect:D

    pistol pete is a beast

    r.i.p

  • Thats how Kobe shoots his free throws, right foot a few inches in front

  • the best...

  • best player ever

  • tell them about the toe, Pete! This is good stuff, there is so much involved in shooting, but most kids never learn it. If your mechanics are right (ignoring fatigue) there should be no reason to miss a shot

  • Legend please!

Is very very very very very good!

  • this open window technique really improved my shooting consistency....i have always been a very good shooter, but i must admit that i was previously a "one-eyed shooter"....if you practice these techniques and make them routine, you will become a great shooter

  • ya i just figured out i was a one eyed shooter lol i'll start doing these drills and fix that problem.

  • same man. the open window completely changed my shooting in that i can now shoot the ball real well with consistency.

  • legend

  • pete is before james, kobe, shaq, jordan, bird, magic, dr.

  • no, dr, J and pistol pete are almost teamates in atlanta hawks in the 1972 NBA, they always play 1 on 1 during scrimmage looseer will treat dinner, hehehehe, both are at the same era, they are all the greatest,

  • Legend. R.I.P.

  • This guy knows what he is talking about.

    R.I.P. Pistol Pete

  • funny thing is pistol was so good he could shoot sideways backwards off the wrong foot his passing was incredible with trickery look at some of his highlights you will see what i mean and his dribbling would make any NBA player nowadays look foolish. Im looking at you kobe and jordan.

  • this man is a basketball machine.

  • dude do you even follow basketball at all

  • lol i was hoping someone would reply to my comment

    R.I.P Pistol Pete

  • Pisrol Pete is the inventor of skill!

I tried different shooting styles but pistol pete style gives me the highest percentage to shoot the ball. At first i don't agree with pistol pete till i shoot in games. i coudnt balance myslef when using other styles. this is probably the best shooting styles.

  • you are the best...

    sir pete!!! :D

    RIP :(

  • hotmvman, watch all the videos, go out and shoot with it fresh in your mind. Perfect practice makes perfect.

  • How can u du "perfect shooting practice" if u aren´t already perfect shooter??

  • start shooting with your eyes closed... if you can do that, then start shooting with one arm and eyes closed

  • I don't know about that...one arm, definitely not. Eyes closed, for free throws, maybe.

You should practice like Ray Allen, coming off picks, etc.

  • helped me shoot much better. rip pistol pete.

  • is it ok if ur elbow is over ur thigh? and where do u release the ball?

  • We talk about some of this stuff in our videos, but basically your shooting arm and leg will line up.

  • thts if your feet are square to the basket, in other words if your feet are facing it

  • rip man.

  • yea poor guy but his teachings are very specific i follow them and it works

  • Thanks for the comments. By the way, what are the reasons why my shots are falling short? explain to me clearly. I am new to basketball.

  • when are you releasing the ball? if you're new to basketball, don't try to time your jump shot at the apex of your jump, just release it on the way up. it'll give you some more leeway on the jumpshot and you're less likely to lose any power

  • jump, stand up and jump the highest u can jump. See how high u jumped, that's how high u should jump when u shooting the basketball.

  • Your shot is probably falling short because you are not getting enough power out of your legs. You can generate more upforce from your lower body than from your upper body. Check out our videos, they might help.

  • My shot has been falling short. Why am I missing? I think I'm not jumping high enough. Do you have to jump high on your jump shot? If so, how high does a 5 foot 8 person have to jump?

  • actually u dont have to use too much jump on ur shot. but legs do help alot

  • The average human head is about 8 pounds not 20-25. But he knows basketball. Good stuff.

  • Nice Reebok old school sneakers

  • Yeah

    R.I.P PISTOL
