Not even close. kirky is a champion tagger and tackler, but not in the class of Judd. And Benny C is a champ also, but I reckon Judd just edges him for extreme leadership. When he was at West Coast he got the hard ball when he needed too but he was more of a finisher, they based there game around his pace and skill. At Carlton they haven't had the strength on the ground to win the ball and execute it out to players like Judd (not that Carlton had players like him before). So Carlton are using his strength on the ground getting the hardball and using players like Stevens as finishers, virtually opposite of what he was doing at West Coast.

Judd does get his knees dirty and get the ball out of a pack situation. The problem is those passages of play aren't good enough to make his highlights package. If your after some of that footage, maybe just watch him play over the weekend. The reason why Kirk and Mitchel have that sort of footage on their highlights is cause their footskills leave a little to be desired.

No, your comments imply that u dont classify his as a 'great player'..all u've done is criticised him, calling him ovverated, useless and slow...and if you actually watch him, he spins out of tackles, and constantly wins the ball when it is dispute....champion of contested ball...and yes, AFL is probably softer nowadays than in the past. but by the same token, forwards dont kick big bags anymore. Does that mean they are shit? You can only measure a champ in terms of their era....

For what the game is now, and how it is played, Judd is a champion. Perhaps the notion of 'contested ball' has changed over time. I think you're thinking of the 80s and 90s in terms of your criteria, in which players had to go in for it because there was no cheap possessions. Get real, look at the impact this guy has mad on modern footy, acknowledge that he is a champion of the modern era, and stop being such a wanker. I highly doubt that. Criticising one of the champions of the modern era proves ur complete football illiteracy. Hodge is NOTHING on Judd. Not even close. kirky is a champion tagger and tackler, but not in the class of Judd. And Benny C is a champ also, but I reckon Judd just edges him for extreme leadership. Judd is a very tough player. Remember, its not just about physical strength and toughness. Its also mental. I think rob harvey proves that.

When he was at West Coast he got the hard ball when he needed too but he was more of a finisher, they based there game around his pace and skill. At Carlton they haven't had the strength on the ground to win the ball and execute it out to players like Judd (not that Carlton had players like him before). So Carlton are using his strength on the ground getting the hardball and using players like Stevens as finishers, virtually opposite of what he was doing at West Coast.
Altogether Judd's a freak!

Judd does get his knees dirty and get the ball out of a pack situation. The problem is those passages of play aren't good enough to make his highlights package. If your after some of that footage, maybe just watch him play over the weekend. The reason why Kirk and Mitchel have that sort of footage on their highlights is cause their footskills leave a little to be desired.
