genius genius genius stuff. This is exactly the kinda stuff that I adore. I am glad I saw this today, it has made me laugh. Haved shared it on my Facebook hoping it does the same for others
@Aylesburylocksmith Thanks Aylesburylocksmith. Glad you enjoyed it, and thanks for sharing it on your Facebook page. Hope your friends like it and share it too.
Howdy. Glad you liked the film. Yes, you're quite right - that is a mandolin in the film, not a lute. It was several hundred pounds cheaper! Thanks for your comments. Keep your tights high and your feathers fluffy. Spread the love.
As a Bard here in the states, I think we are a misunderstood party. It's more than a tunic and a few rhymes. You have got to have the soul. You have got to be merry. Half the people who say "Do something with your life" don't know a Lute from a Mandolin. At least I'm not playing HALO for Christ's sake.
ha!ha! Medieval rappaz. with outraged conservatives condemning furiously and wishy-washy liberals desperate to "relate" Plenty of modern cliches, gritty observational documentary hippies, etc
I agree. In America, we have people who can dress like cowboys (except for the chaps) and even sing country music (folk country, the most). I like some country, but I like Renaissance Festival/Faire music more.
Brilliant. Delivered with all the serious tone of a documentary on goth kids, punk rock kids, alt-rock kids, etc. The woman who does the voiceover has the perfect tone about the whole thing. Wonderful.
I know all about the need to dress up and play the lute in public. Sometimes I have the overwhelming urge to do it and sometimes I don't. I guess you could say I have a minstrel cycle, but it is irregular.
Thanks Aylesburylocksmith. Glad you enjoyed it, and thanks for sharing it on your Facebook page. Hope your friends like it and share it too.

The woman doing the voiceover is the magic ingredient - she was a perfect find. She sounds exactly like the typical UK documentary voiceover person.

@1987simple . Yes, shot in Reading town centre most of it, much to the bewilderment of the townsfolk.

thats a round back mandolin
LawnboyPFS 3 years ago
Well spotted. It was considerably cheaper and more practical than a lute!

My music history professor played this at the end of last semester before we took our early music final. It was awesome.
