Money does not run the world; money is merely a universal working tool, one which we all have agreed is vastly superior to barter, and, especially, theft by force. What runs the world is quality of work; money is the working tool which is the gauge of such work. However, this only refers to financial compensation for one's effort. The personal compensation for quality of work is the core of realizing one's purpose.
Rand told the world that being selfish was tantamount to being moral... and societies real assholes finally found some source of validation for their pathologies. Its pathetic to say the least.
Hello! I had read this book a very long time ago and now I don't remember most of the details, but I saw the Atlas Shrugged Part I today in theatres. I was wondering if you had seen it or plan on seeing it, and what your opinion is on the movie and how accurately the book was represented. I have sadly not read the fountainhead but after watching this I think I'll go buy it tomorrow. Thank you!
Based on your review I just bought Atlas. Hope I enjoy it. I've been looking at it for a while now. Apparently the game Bioshock was loosely based on it. I'll keep you updated on what I think.
Well I started last night and couldn't put it down. I've read the first 100 pages already. If the beginning is considered slow I'm gonna love this books I feel.
Good to hear your thoughts. Just FYI the author's name Ayn is pronounced "Ine"- rhymes with Pine or Mine or Sign or Fine - not "Ann". If you enjoyed Atlas check out my John Galt videos
Thanks, didn't know that. Always heard it pronounced Ann. Atlas was good, but I liked Fountainhead more...although I think the message in Atlas was better...if that makes any sense.
No problem. I am in the process of finishing Fountainhead myself. Probably have about 100 pages left. Next on the list is Atlas Shrugged, of course. How are you picking your books for the book reviews?
Well, I review almost every book I finish, but I tend to read 4-5 at a time so they come in spurts. Most of the time I review business books, but from time to time I'll review fiction that I think has a deeper meaning than just a story.

@cosg9531 Very true, and the most important thing that Rand-detractors try to obfuscate.

Very cool. Let me know what you think. Keep in mind that the beginning is a little slow, but the middle/end are very good and worth the wait.

When you introduced Atlas Shrugged for your review, you said Fountainhead. Just FYI.
