  • i have 4 of those when they were young and they were very territorial and fight to death, but the last one grew big and was 45 cm big

  • Very aggressive towards other fishes as they grow bigger. When mine started to attach my asian arowana, it was time for it "go"!

  • OH COME'ON!!! I looked up big walking catfish and the only video that came up was just a video of two catfish swimming around? I mean no offense at all but just been having bad day so far.

  • @calirez01 In the USA yes, but elsewhere where they're not a problem we keep them as pets. They're not illegal in the UK and obviously not Latvia. You need to cull them since they pose a threat but we don't. If everyone were to kill them there'd become extinct which would impact the ecosystem severly. In many cultures these fish provide a regular food source and income and are therefore not 'disgusting'.

  • @1991nadia1991 That's what we want, we want their extinction. And the impact of the ecosystem is a lie, that's why in U.S.A they kill them, to keep a good ecosystem. The Claria is a specie which shouldn't exist.

  • @MrAdrianSilva Adolf smile....

  • @MrAdrianSilva A dude just to let you know they can only live in the coastal states and in Tn they aren"t illegal and are very intelligent and also make a fish exctinct causes its natural ecyosttem to decline or native fish will grow big and starve to death because the lack of a predator and also snakeheads are considered a invasive species but only 4 out of 50 can live in U.S.A waters and i know this because my Farther is a F.W.C officer :)

  • @calirez01 Just because you are so narrow-minded that you will not eat a fish solely because of what it looks like does not mean other cultures waste resources they have available. If you checked where this user is from, he's from Latvia where it is not illegal to keep these fish.

  • @calirez01 You are right.

  • Es ilegal en los estados unidos , si tienes uno debes pagar una multa de $1000.00 ademas de 1 ano de carcel...ademas si lo tocas en una de las aletas te puede dar gangrena!

  • My uncle has 1 17-18inch i persuaded him to get it 7-8 months ago i said you will love him He bought him 1.5inch now 18inch LoL My uncle loves him

  • where can i buy one of these?

  • In legal areas, at the fish store. In illegal areas, you either have to smuggle it in or buy it from a private seller. Once you get it in those illegal areas you have a fairly low chance of getting caught. Fish are easier to keep hidden than other illegal animals.

  • The wels catfish, Silurus glanis, is the only native catfish species of Europe, besides the much smaller related Aristotle's catfish found in Greece. Mythology and literature record wels catfish of astounding proportions, yet to be proven scientifically. The average size of the species is about 1.21.6 m (3.95.2 ft), and fish more than 2 metres (6.6 ft) are very rare. The largest specimens on record measure more than 8.2ft in length and sometimes exceeded 220lb.
