The points you make - although I can't tell you whether they are substantial or not - at least can be made to discuss about. You are right to question the war in Iraq and Afghanistan. I am unsure myself whether the reasons to carry out this intervention are justified or not.

@Dustupajee I also would have wished for a peaceful negotiation of the US with the government and countries who allegedly were harboring terrorists. On the other hand, I also can understand that military action are justifiable after the events of 9/11. We all know that you cannot really fight terrorism with military force, but only by removing the roots of terrorism, I also believe that the USA and the west has been made a scapegoat for internal problems in many countries.

The fact is, I don't know. Neither do you know what are the true reasons. In the past, many military interventions, wars and even covert operations of the US, however are clearly to be seen in the attempts to prevent communism from expending not peacefully, but also militarily.

This is called WW2, where many lives have been saved by avoiding a longer and bloodier fighting, although many military experts say that the bombing of Dresen wasn't really necessary from a military point of view. Nevertheless, you have to take into consideration the atrocities commited by the Nazis at the beginning and during the WW2.
