I really liked this show. It would be cool if the last volumes of the dvds were reprinted so that they weren't so unattainable o_O but I guess they probably weren't huge sellers in america, maybe
I picked up Volumes 1-10 a little while ago from a used video/game/music store. A great find even if they were missing 11 and 12. I'm hoping to get lucky enough to run across those eventually. A great series.
ADV, the company that distributed it, went out of business a few months ago, so it's long out of print. You can rent it from Netflix, or perhaps find some volumes in a used-DVD store. Be aware that volumes 11 and 12 were produced in very small numbers (for some reason) and are really hard to find.

i just finished this series (i acquired it via torrent)
my thoughts on the show
Character designs are really cool (except for Nie and Elle, i hate their hair :P)
the soundtrack was okay
the mech designs were AWESOMe
and the ending was splendid
but it only gets a 4/5 because the second half had WAY too much filler, and i got bored
but great series nonetheless
but Ideon, and L. Gaim, in my opinion are superior mecha series from Tomino
