Bill came up with the song after watching Days of Wine and Roses starring Jack Lemmon and it's the story about two alcoholics who were sometimes strong and sometimes weak, but eventually they would run back to the same poison. In Bill's case, by the way he is sweating, I think that poison was cocaine or heroin:)
