@djscottdog1 The plan is a modified version of a John Allen book. I used the XtrkCAD program to design it and printed it at a 1:1 scale. Then I taped all the sheets together.
Ok, so i just finished making my roads on my layout about 3 hours ago, still have some further detailing to do. I have three basic industries and i am modeling western Canada, and the Canadian Pacific Railway. My modeling era is during the transition from steam to diesel and I have a 3x5 foot layout (N scale) Anyone have any tips as to where to go from here? I have 1 engine, but I am hoping to get a CNR 4-6-0. I am 14 and I am lost as to what to do now on my railway. Thankyou
This was when we were just starting the layout. I have a progress thread on a model RR forum that I show all the different step of the construction. Many people are intersted in the processes. If I can help anyone with building their layout... then I did my job.
Go to my Youtube main page and click on the website to see a complete layout progress report. The first posting has a picture of the layout when we first started the building process. It was modified a bit as the benchwork was built.

What railroad track software did you use to printo your layout in real scale? thanks

XtrkCAD, there are a few sites you can download the program from. Google it the way I typed it in.
The 1:1 scale printout was a great feature to use when laying out the track.
