Yeah, this series does not suck, it was at times a fantastic series. One thing I liked was the uniqueness of the team, and also a team that interacted with the rest of the marvel universe. Sasquatch battled the Hulk a couple times (and beat up the Super Skrull), Guardian interacted with the Avengers, Marrina had an affair with the Sub Mariner, and all of them interacted regularly with the X-Men, seeing as Wolverine is a former member of the team, yet the story was grounded in Canada.
It was HIS creation, HIS characters. Wouldnt it be great if the two got together again? Loved every issue of Johns. 1-28! He put great thought, attention and love into the art and stories and created a whole new unique world - well, Canada in comic book form! I know John wasnt comfortable with the characters and found it hard to steer them. But John, look at what you created! Every thought, concept an comic book panel in all the 28 issues was OUTSTANDING!!!!
That was nice. Always loved this team, but hated how marvel always hands it off to second rate talent. Like any comic, this book needs a top notch writer who will commit to 120 issues, and three, maybe four top artist to draw it over that ten year span. Big stories, big villains, and big scope...none of this "save a neighborhood" crap, but some global, galactic, and universe saving.
To bad Marvel always treated Alpha Flight like crap. The first series went to hell after issue 12. Worst Artists, worst writers, etc. The revised teams will always pale in comparision. I guess its all part of the numbers they want millions of people to drop $3.00+ an issue nowadays for a comic book. Alpha Flight doesnt pull in enough readers, so kill team. Way to go marvel. No wonder DC owns your ass again. You had your run in the 1980ties, and you dropped the ball.
Snowbird is awesome.

I agree they treated Alpha Flight like shit but DC hasn't owned Marvel since the 70s...
I say start and entire reboot and how about all of us actually go buy the fucking comics lol.

if they make a movie hope they actually wear the costumes, unlike x-men, though cyclops was the best had his visor at least

First favorite comic and still #1. AF volume 1 by Byrne is the best superhero comic of that time.

As weird as it is, I used to fancy Aurora when I was a kid. I was even jealous of the relationship between her and Sasquatch! Damn his hide!

The beginning of this comics was quite good & John Byrne sure did a great job. But when he left the series the scenario became gradually ridiculous.
