This was my first introduction to the band YEARS ago - I must have been about 12 or so - and I "rediscovered" it recently. I still can' t take my eyes off it!
LOLZ..no yer right...agreedoh im sub on the table....ohh nooo..puhlease....no...puleaese....no uhh no...PLEASE (no) Please (no) PLEASE......que the lyrics
For some reason this reminds me of Nine Inch Nails style of music video.. Even the sound is sort of similar.. Hm, I'm not sure why people even bother saying they dislike a song? You looking for comfort in knowing other people are out there that dislike it too?.. Regardless I like it, so I negate any purposeful notion that comes with your comment.
Jeff Martin is the biggest tool in music. Holy shit that guys ego makes me throw up a little in my mouth. He was a good artist but his last 3 albums have sucked shit.
love this song.. but i used to have an MP3 of this song that had a bunch of piano at the end, anyone else have that too? I'm curious if that was actually part of the song or not.
Not their best song, but I love the video. If you want to hear a great song from the same album from which this was released check out "Gyroscope" and of course "Temptation".
A sad but true story--Ass rock band Creed toured with The Tea Party and decided to try and rip them off on their Human Clay album by adding a more Indonesian sound--This made them even more terrible than befor but they got even bigger while the Tea Party continued to rot in obscurity, except in Canada. WTF?! Just shows that most listeners today are just monkeys with headphones and an ipod. Wait I take that back, monkeys would have better taste. Tea Party was fucking awesome.
Tea Party was the shiz night!! I'm not surprised Creed would do something like that. Got to keep the Christian rock listeners happy somehow. Scott Stapp is an ass clown anyway.
I agree! I saw Creed open for The Tea Party in 1997 and hated Scott Stapp posing on stage like he was Jesus. It always makes me think of the Soundgarden song Jesus Christ Pose
And you stare at me
In your jesus christ pose
Arms held out
Like you've been carrying a load
And you swear to me
You don't want to be my slave
But you're staring at me
Like I need to be saved
Scott Stapp and Creed suck and The Tea Party is the best rock band ever!!!!
@homesickalienpoet The good thing is that monkeys are easy to control thanks to their lack of sensibility and their hollow desire of following the mass believing they'll get to the slaughterhouse first, and another good thing is that still many listen to great bands like this, I bet crap like Creed will be forgotten :)
There has always gotta' be scum for the true to shine... and if monkeys are scum the least they wanna know about is the truth though you already know that ^^
You do realize 90% of the time the band doesn't come up with the idea for a video? There is a NIN video that was in fact filmed in one shot and the idea was in fact taken from this video. Whether it was Trent Reznor or the director that was inspired by this video, that wasn't in the article I read. Music videos are ways to promote music and aren't made by bands, moron. The Tea Party didn't inspire NIN. This video inspired a NIN video. Which is exactly what I said.
Because they'd rather listen to you pretend to be deep and esoteric? Spare me. The fact of the matter, and I'm sure there are 20 million people that will jump down my throat for this, is that Trent Reznor will never be the musician Jeff Martin is. Let's see him pick up a guitar and do half the shit Jeff Martin does. Can he play Winter Solstice or Coming Home? Or The River? It's not just about playing either. It's writing those songs. NIN doesn't compare in writing or musicianship.
totally agreed bro, however both are gifted musicians and have their grandeur, have in mind their styles are very opposite, though Im afraid any band can do what Tea party has done, ever...
actually you can dance to any type of music whether its techno, metal or whatever and just because this is not a proper dance song dosent mean you cant feel it;)
Oh I have heard of those lobotomy thingys.. they actually make people believe only SOME music is for dancing. Sorry zombie newnrg, ALL music is for dancing.
Stop arguing semantics you dick. The accepted definition of dancing is what TekLok refers to; moving your body. If you have some New Age, metaphorical bullshit definition of dancing, that's your own private, personal opinion which has merit and bearing in your private universe only, not the public universe. Not all music is made for dancing. Period. Dancing is not relegated to the dancefloor, but that doesn't mean that all music is created for dancing, dumbfuck. And lobotomies? Left field much?
Strawman. Are you seriously saying that you only dance to dance music. Who is the lobotimized dumbfuck?
Hell, since you obviously don't know the context of the original comment of how they danced to the song, and then the lobotomized zombie saying it is not a dance song, you are clearly aguing about something else that is a strawman.
Illiterate dumbies who can't read so they make up their own shit against what was originally said.
this band deserves to be known worldwide...they're amazing and very talented...only 10% of people recognize good music..the rest listens to shitty music.. and i have to say The Tea Party is a fucken awesome band..they should have conquer the world before they broke up..
I Just saw Jeff Martin with his new band "The Armada" with there first shows of the 2008 tour....absolutely fucken killer....the tea party are sadly finished forever but the Armada have an awesome sound and jeff's lyrics/vocals/guitar playing are still brilliant... look out for the Armada, all tea party/jeff martin fans will love it(5 tea party songs in the set too)
So absolutely true!! And i'd say you're downvaluing it comparing it to gold... I's also cut out interzone mantras, not good enough. Edges of twilight was pure, Splendor solis was awesome and transmission was bliss! That's my holy trinity! Respectively, my best on each album, Fire in the head, The river and Psycopomp.... boy did I get stoned on that one! Enjoy and for those of you who don't know the Tea Party... do yourselves a favor, buy Edges of twilight!!!
I'm from the States, and have been a fan since their first Album. What I can't understand is why only a few of us here seem to know they exist, it just seems our radio stations do not play them!
