  • Fabulous!! David Gilmour is one of the best ! And Pink Floyd too ! There is a really feeling with the guitar that we can only find with Mr Gilmour (sorry for my bad english)

  • Saw Ritchie Havens do a cover of this live when I saw him. He also did an A Capella version on his last album. One of the best songs ever.

  • i think maybe this should be the new theme song for the occupy movement... maybe...

  • This song explained everything to me. It made me understand "how it is" as opposed to "how I want it to be". Yes, I still sing to this song while driving in my car. I can also really belt it out if I feel like it.

  • its a sin how some or anyone with a soul can not love floyd....

  • 52 people did not become comfortably numb and were hounded by the dogs of war...

  • 52 folks are joining in the turning away......how sad...

  • Music for the higher chakras.

  • 52 people would rather listen to Nickelback how gay

  • 52 people are brit. spears fans on fb

  • @Dawg1566 tool has nothing on pink Floyd kid. Take a step back and re-evaluate, because tool sucks next to Floyd

  • @VAmato1993 i like tool

  • @VAmato1993 I also like Tool.

  • I've never understood why this is never included on any of their complitation albums. Its a classic!

  • Let me fix this... 52 people have no clue

  • if you don't like this song then you must only like that bullshit they call call music now: mainstream bs. hiphop r&b bullshit that talk about nothing but there rims and whores and money and how they exploit the system and wont work!!! fucking haters!!! listen to some real music!!

  • The Floyd is damn good. Not quite Tool good but very close

  • love it :o)

  • Heard this on the radio.. first time in months to years... wow...

  • this is a great song and put the bullshit aside this song is what it is if you like it then you know if not im sorry and hope you figure it out one day

  • Can we all just shut up about politics and listen to the damn song?

  • Pink Floyd has to be the over all best band in rock

  • 52 People turned away. What scum bags!

  • not everyone can be as spritually enlightened as we are. these songs are about expansion.

  • This song is to fucking short /':

  • Perfectly Beautiful...

  • people should just start singing this in the occupy wallstreet protests

  • @ironmaiden66695 This about man helping his fellow man not about big corporations helping. It the American people who have sent the corporate world across the seas, we all want products that are cheaper, it is not the corporate worlds fault. If we as Americans would stand up and BUY AMERICAN this sh** would stop. Until you stop buying Chinese and our government borrowing from them it will continue. Just my opinion and that of many TRUE AMERICANS.

  • @MikiSumner So only people who agree with you are true Americans? Keep drinking that tea, kid.

  • @MikiSumner The american people did not send corporations away you idiot, because corps didn't want to give raises or pay taxes they left, you uneducated pile of shit, quit watching TV and learn something you fucking jackass! You are not a true American, I'm sure Roger would agree you are a true sheep. FUCK YOU!

  • Comment removed

  • @1stchoicemodern I don't agree with MikiSumner either, as I believe her perspective is a bit askew, but do you think insulting someone will help your cause? Maybe instead of calling this person an "Uneducated pile of shit", you might try to explain your point of view, and just maybe, they might listen and learn what is really going on in this world. I'm thinking that the more people that have a clue, the better, and insults won't help to accomplish that, IMHO.

  • I cried so hard when I saw this performed at RFK Stadium in '94. Probably the one song that will always tug at my very soul.

  • @paraNORMLHaruko that was some show.... never saw anything like it before, or after. Saw them in Irving Texas during that tour myself.

  • trouser snake + pink taco = crib midget

  • Possibly the band's best song.

  • WoW!!!!!!!

  • My wife used this song in a bullying video she made for her classroom.

  • Those ever echoing words, "NO MORE TURNING AWAY" are what we all should live by...

  • great song...

  • Why does this remind me of Lion King?

  • this song is epic

  • what a all time classic.3rd album i bought was pink floyd.all the slings and arrows bullies and jerks through at you and with pink floyd you shine on those scum buckets like a shiny diamond and like baron von rashka used to say thats all the people need to know.party on rock on

  • Pink Floyd tells me there are more important things than religion and a god... look at us as beings on this earth...we fight over such trivial things...there are people that really need help.. to see a commercial before a pink floyd song is disturbing.....fuck you you tube...you sold out

  • @CommercialAtrophy Sooo you honestly think that everything in life can be free , all you need do is want it and (POOF) there it is waiting for your next want ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,infantile little OWS squatter

  • @CommercialAtrophy How would you propose that YouTube stay in business without advertising?

  • no more pain

  • This is way, way beyond words.

  • Wheither you ever see them live, Waters or Gilmour or if you saw them all together when they were still a unit.. you were or will be moved in whatever setting it may be, you will be moved if your just listening on the radio or better yet your own cd... It just music for people who appreciate meaningful lyrics and music. Too bad they cannot never truly unite again, RIP Richard Wright.

  • I feel bad for at least 51 people in the world!

  • I think I'll play Halo while listening to this.

  • 0:26 did he just mention the worms?

  • ...PINK FLOYD...THE ONLY BAND THAT EVER MATTERED....

    ....BEST SONG EVER MADE.....

  • I am amazed that anyone could dislike this song

  • if u like pink floyd and led zeplin u would probly also like tom petty these are all bands that have great rethym and deep lyrics that relate to us all they are th fuckin best .....try tome petty refugee or dont do me like that...great songs

  • holy shit. you know you are listening to good music when the goosebumps tell you not to change the song

  • One of the best songs I've ever heard. I introduced it to a friend who just turned 18 and she says..."who is Pink Floyd?" After she listened to it she asked me to burn her a copy. Enough said!

  • Mom asked me today, "who was that you were playing in the room just now?" That was Pink Floyd, Mom....

  • @IamRedleaf im surprised cus most parents of this generation grew up with pink floyd haha if it wasnt for my dad i wouldnt have started listening to em and such music since i was young ..pink floyd rocks!

  • @IamRedleaf And mom said 'Oh yea I was listening tio them the night you were con,,,,never mind"

  • Powerful song and one of my favorite Gilmour solos.

  • joyhaden got it right, why choose a favorite or argue over it, zeppelin floyd qeesn etc. all excellent.

  • @coolarrow737 dont know how much of a "tour" it is but under the "views" it says floyd is scheduled to play at the mohegan sun arena in connecticut on nov 4th 2011 google may pop a tour schedule, dunno. timeless tireless band.

  • Don't even try to compare Floyd and Zeppelin...they both have their own places in the music world. Both were and are THE BEST of the best!!!

  • When I was in the Army, I had a buddy die. It took this song for the grief to come out....I had it all bottled up. This morning, after coming home from work, I saw the return of a fallen soldier who had been killed in Afghanistan. He was from Oklahoma. For 38 miles, the road was lined with people, giving their final respects. 38 MILES!!!! 38 MILES!!! Wow! I was a blubbering mess! To be perfectly honest...It's time to bring our soldiers home....for the next 50 years!

  • you said it buddy, this song will bring out the emotions we so need to express!! stay human!!

    and bring the people home.

  • everytime i hear this tune i think about 9/11!! dont know why!! oh and the victims of hurricane katrina!! good song!!!

  • All of the greatest band borned in th U.K.....that is for sure

  • Pink Floyd fuckin rules. Listen to little black book. Then hate all u want

  • who's gonna be 1,234,567

  • @darthvapor. Led Zep wouldn't have enough qualifications to be stagehands for Floyd.

  • I don't know who's better, Pink Floyd or Led Zepplin.

  • @darthvapor5170 its hard man pink floyd mas better amagination thoe

  • @darthvapor5170 They are both amazing in different ways: Pink Floyd's music is much better I believe (don't stone me) but Led Zeppelin is the perfect rock band. Pink Floyd's music means much more in many more ways, but Led Zeppelin's chords are unforgettable and imaginative. I don't think two bands could be more evenly matched, but my money's on Pink Floyd.

  • Pink Floyd is my favorite band of all time. And thhis is my favorite song of all time. I used this as my song when I led my schools Kairos retreat, I can listen to this song for hours at a time on replay and it never gets old. This band goes beyond amazing with every single one of their songs and this one is the best. I only regret that i am too young to have seen them (together, I've been to a Waters Concert) in concert. PINK FLOYD FUCKING ROCKS

  • floyddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddd

  • Always the BEST BAND EVER .... BrightBlessings Brothers and Sisters ; )

  • beautiful...

  • chills every time i listen to this song

  • 51 people have no clue

  • you say 51 people but I say 7 billion

  • @avantguards and no soul.

  • @avantguards They forgot to get the true meaning behind the song. To sit back and thinnk of what has become of us. I say we have somewhat lost that humane nature. It's songs like these that are so inspirational, jaw dropping, spine tingling, bone chilling songs. God Bless Pink Floyd.

  • @mwkoen this is why people dont like this song they are afraid of the truth of what we have become such a sad world

  • @thechosenone1177 they just cant accept the truth

  • Floyd will always be my all time favorite band. One day they will resurface and blow the world up with yet again another great album or single. Great song and great job posting it. I agree wit the people who have posted before me and what they say. Finally some people who truly know music and appreciate what one band has done for the people of the world.

  • WOW!!!!!!!

  • great comment... good music didnt die, just went underground. thats how floyd started... underground.... it'll happen again

  • This isn't just a song. In a way, it's also a prayer. My favorite post-Waters PF song!

  • why dont they make Rock compositions like this anymore? excellent drums and tempo.

  • Thinking Man's Rock

  • 51 people have no taste for some weird reason (they probably like rap!!!) P.S. real talent doesn't come from how well you have auto tuned your voice.

  • I'm gonna get a lot of shit for this, but I really think Momentary Lapse is a solid PF album. I listen to this more than I do The Wall, Meddle, Wish you were here (although DSOTM, Animals, Division Bell gets more playing time for me).

  • @huuuubaah , why get a lot of shit ,,, there were three versions of PF , Syds ,, Rogers which was nothing like Syds , and Davids , which ofcourse is not like Rogers,, Can even take it further maybe and say On an Island is the fourth , But on the album its self ,,,, Compare it to anything of the time ,, mostly grunge stuff that really had no artisitic value at all ,,, A very fine album of very cool music that gets better with age

  • @brb0713 No there are 4;

syd, waters+gilmour, waters, gilmour. syd is the first two albums, waters+gilmour is up to the wall, waters is the wall and the final cut, gilmour is the last two.

  • @huuuubaah I personally like this album, too. It's odd how often people say it lacks musical foundation--I find it to be the opposite. Much like you, I listen to this, Divison Bell and DSOTM more often than The Wall, Meddle, and others.

  • such a great song, great lyrics, singing, guitar solo is redicioulus, just an awesome song

  • GOSH THIS SONG IS AMAZING!

  • Comment removed

  • always good music, here's some visuals to go with if u need them:) watch?v=g1DjUtQLMko

  • I wish Roger never left and all of them couldnt age so they could make music forever, theres nothing like them and there never will be

  • @tyloden94 you realize that this is after Roger left right?

  • @MrCarverman exactly, I like this and all but they're just not the same without Roger to me. Without Syd and Roger it's kind of like the idea of pink floyd is gone

  • @tyloden94 it's all good. from syd to the death of wright....that's what makes PF transcend others. the Beatles were a flash in the pan compared to PF. and the Beatles were/are alright.

  • Whats better than this?

  • This was when music had meaning...

  • I'm 14 and Pink Floyd is one of my favorite bands. Who needs crap like lil wayne, bruno mars, or lady gaga when you have Pink Floyd!

  • im 17 and Pink Floyd is my favorite band... This band is time eternal

  • Timeless solo...David Gilmour & Pink Floyd forever...

  • such an amazing song

  • We all have to help humanity to keep our own humanity. Do good in the world. It's what God would want you to do

  • Linkin Park should cover this on MTV Unplugged...with Mike Shinoda on vocals

  • @LogoAttitude They don't deserve to play this amazing song, no one does. Only Pink Floyd should be allowed to play it.

  • @LogoAttitude no they shouldnt....

  • its saying something special that i grew up listening to pink floyd, was in possession of my first pink floyd album when i was 5 years old, the wall, and still to this day have that same double disc album. whats so special about saying that is i am 24 years old. some music is timeless.

  • The more I grow, the more I age, the more I listen to the world, the more this song has an impact on me. I will not stand by and let others suffer as many do. I will not sit and stay quite as many have. I will be heard and through the crowd my voice will echo and with the combined force of thousands we will change this world.

  • seems like yesterday but its been 24 years ago when i 1st heard this awesome floyd song, now im 40 and "on the turning away" is still great as ever!!!

  • My favorite Song . this will be played at my funeral when it comes time. as well as knocking on heavens door, and I hear you knocking but you can't come in.

  • NORTHFORTY U ARE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT...GOOD FOR ANY MOOD UR IN...ROCK ROLL MELLOW LOUD INTROSPECTIVE..ANYTHING. MY SON HAS BEEN RAISED ON THEM BLAZING OUT OF SOME BOSE AT 220 WATTS A CHANNEL BABY,

  • I looove this song. I grew up listening to Pink Floyd. Although I like today's music, it will never compare to PF.

  • amazing music

  • This is a very great song. David gilmore is a good singer and guitarist

Almost all the songs that they sing are great. The first time i heard floyd is when i was listening to the radio and heard money and another brick in the wall

  • This is a very great song. David gilmore is a good singer and guitarist

  • It makes me reflect on the IDIOTS over the past 30 years we have entrusted with FAR too much power that have done attrocities to us and others in arrogance right in front of everyone time and time again they vote them in ,the conservatives and tea baggers will destroy america to corporate owned poor house. Will the usa or the world survive?? PEOPLE POWER,educate the truth and VOTE

  • My son asked me years ago, if you could only listen to one band for the rest of your life who would it be. With out hesatation I replyed Pink Floyd. No doubt about it !!

  • @northfourty i saw them in 1970's & found myself hungry for their music like fuel for living; now almost 60 and a day hasn't gone by without a lyric or guitar solo replaying in my head. it has penetrated my very soul...i've asked all close to me to make a promise that Pink Floyds' sound is present at my funeral

  • @northfourty without any single dought this band is the ultimate there is and there are many good bands BUT NOTHING EVER compares to pink floyd!!

  • @northfourty definitely

  • @northfourty without a doubt..... i agree.

  • @northfourty Good answer.

  • @northfourty I wouldn't mind at all. They're the band I listen to the most, that's for sure. I hope you got your son into Pink Floyd. My dad was the one who got me into them. :)

  • I completely agree. They have been my favorite band for 20 years now. That's prob not going to change.

  • @northfourty That is a risky choice. I love this band but i would not want to be depressed for the rest of my life. haha

  • pink floyd is amazing

  • This makes me cry, so many memories from listening to this when I was little.....

  • No more turning away NO!

  • Pink Floyd AND LAdy Gaga on the same page? Youtube has a virus.

  • Don't worry about Lady Gaga. Worry about keeping beauty alive and passing this knowledge on because I can turn on the radio and hear nothing and wonder how much more fucked up people will be than me when they're my age.

  • the best

  • Fuckin' beauty of a song.

  • MrYoufailsir you depress me but its true

  • If This isnt played at my funeral im gonna be super pissed!

  • @EOJrobolo I doubt it.

  • I came home tonight around one in the morning, laid back listening to a classic rock radio station in my car with the seat back, fell asleep for a half hour, and woke up with this playing....

It made me realize that although I like to think Pink Floyd is my favorite band, I'm an idiot for not having heard this album...

This is one of the most beautiful rock songs ever written!

  • Fuck ya...........................

  • 2:44 mind, heart and soul shatteringly epic

  • been listening to floyd for about 21 years and it never gets old..suppose it never will!

  • Hooah.......Floyd will ALWAYS Rock.

  • Takes me back and brings back so many good memories!

  • @ociee117 you are forgetting Ric Grech he was on bass for them..but yeah u got it.

  • Does no one get what they are trying to say? We should help the ones we love and others who need it (well not by welfare or other social programs) by lending a hand when we can. I for one have given to people I don't even know who have lost their house to a fire. This is what America is about, not letting every Tom, Dick or Harry receive state benefits, but letting the neighbors help and give when they can.

Hahahaha I am a Republican and am trying to like Pink Floyd as well!

  • @redemption2021 also, not about borders... not about 'political parties' or other synthetic concepts and false ideals.

  • One of my favs from them...I know a lot of people that dont really understand how good these guys were...I am only 27 and on a daily basis I say man i wish i would have grown up in the time of real music...My top ten are Skynyrd, Zeppelin, Cream, Floyd,Sabbath, CCR, ABB,Hendrix,(Experience Days)1960s Rolling Stones, and Blind Faith. I would like to meet another 27 year old that even knows who Blind Faith was. lol

  • @McHunter111 I'm 19 and I know who Blind Faith is. I've known since I was 17. They are Ginger Baker, Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood. I think I'm forgetting someone else....but anywho. Yeah...I agree with you. Although if we had been born then we wouldn't be able to sit in our rooms on YouTube and listen to whoever we want too. And we would have been just like everyone else. At least in this day and age we can say we have better taste in music than most kids.

  • fuck, i miss music

  • @GNASTY575 good music didn't die, it just went underground.

  • @Taylorwest626 It's hiding out until the earth recovers from the veritable nuclear winter that is today's music.

  • Lady Gaga has this band beat a mile. With Gaga you get dancing, simulated sex acts, clothing that looks like it was designed by a misogynist mental patient and plagiarized Madonna songs.

With Pink Floyd, all you get is good music. What good is that in a world where the average attention span is--what? That dog has a puffy tail!

  • @Unfortunateguy17 Damn, dude. That was one hell of a run on sentence.

  • Elite group, one of the best all time...jm

  • MAN WHAT A SONG!!!!!

  • @Unfortunateguy17- Okay? Good for you? It looks like you copied that from wikipedia. Their arrangments are simple, their time signatures are simple, the only thing NOT simple about it is the face that they don't just use guitar bass and drums. They were innovative, but it's far from complex.

  • no other song has the same message AND power as this song

  • This is precisely why the electric guitar was invented
