I didnt find this game "scary" a lot, but the scarce ammo, the dim lighting, and the numerous necromorphs make this game a truly tense, desperate attempt at survival. That in itself is pretty scary

I love Dead Space to death, I really do. But I hate when people say its scary It's is to watch for monsters and you you have plenty of powerful weapons. the few times it scared me was when something came out of no where and I jumped up. but a real horror game should keep me on the edge of my seat and frightend to turn the the next corner, not make me overly exited to kill a bunch of monsters with my fancy new gun. If this game had a co-op survival mode in multiplayer it would be so fun. Fighting hordes of necromorphs with ur buddies unlocking new and more deadly weapons as you advance to the next and more powerful wave of aliens so you can get urself a spot on the leader bords :) epicness...

They're not monsters or zombies dumbass, they are alien-human hybrids. The flying necromorphs turn human bodies into the different types of necromorphs.
@theveteran1000 They ARE zombies. They're dead bodies brought back to life that attack mindlessly. That makes them zombies, even if they aren't like your average zombie. And they can easily be called monsters. Also you do know that necro means dead right? And they're called NECROmorphs. Meaning the dead morphed into the form of nightmares. It's an alien parasite that uses dead human bodies. A hybrid would mean musing the two.
@AaR07n - the first one is more claustrophobic and scary but it's also clunky and requires a lot of backtracking. The second one is more action-packed and offers more variety. Overall they're both great but DS2 is simply more polished and since you don't have to play the previous one to understand the plot I'd choose DS2.

Multiplayer was pretty fucking awesome if you ask me-- even though there was little reason to play as the puker or spitter. Playing as a human really felt like co-op dead space, and it was great.
If there is a Dead Space 3, it should take place on Mars. Since they escaped Titan in that Gunship than they might have been taken into custody by Earthgov. Than the Unitologist would bust him out but they get killed by the Necromorphs and Issac has to fight his way back to Ellie and rescue her. We also will find out that the Black Marker is being kept on the planet.

Uncharted is shit, infamous should be the flagship of ps3.. Resistance was always mediocre, killzone is just bad but the multiplayer is good, god of war 3 is great but not a ps3 IP, uncharted is really bad... Plattforming sucks, puzzles are nothing special, shooting is disgusting... Its an interactive movie like heavy rain but heavy rain was better, because it knew what it was.. Uncharted on the other hand tries to be a liberating game, where you can do stuff but it doesn't achieve that

@pastdark75 Yeah but most people don't (or want) to build a PC. If you buy a pre build pc it will be pricey. My graphics card was only 35$ and runs games a bit better than the Xbox :)

Should I get this or the first if I can only get one? Everyone seems to believe that the 1st is scarier. I also dislike entering sequels (stories confuse the hell out of me) so I'm leaning toward DS 1 as of now.

also watch the animated comics and the two animated movies (dead space: downfall and dead space: aftermath) there are also games that closes the gaps in the stories

DS2 is not an action game. How is it? Its not as scary as DS1, because we know what to expect It can be scary. Seriously horror fans will trash a good game if its not scary. Their cancer.

@SaturdayNightsME I have to disagree a little with you. I thought DS2 was much scarier than DS1... in all honesty the only thing that scared me in DS1 was the ending... besides that it was just like creepy but a good creepy you could say. DS2 was packed with surprises and i loved it. 9.5/10 i think it deserves despite the multiplayer being kinda a let down

@mrdarkdragon456 well i never said DS2 sucked. I find it more fun and emproved over DS1. Its just that DS2 is not shit your pants scary like DS1(my opinion), But DS2 is a thrill ride and can be scary I completely agree with you. My point was that is horror fans are whiners. If they expect something scary from a sequel to game and its not scary at all, but it turns out to be a very good game overall they'll trash it. That almost happened to DS2. But like we said DS2 can be scary.

@SaturdayNightsME I wasnt trying to imply that you thought ds2 sucked by anymeans. To be honest i dont care much for the scares, as they make the gameplay better though, i care more for the story which is the best part of dead space. DS1 was a bit slow but DS2 really kicked into gear and i hope DS3 raises the bar even more

Uncharted is shit, infamous should be the flagship of ps3.. Resistance was always mediocre, killzone is just bad but the multiplayer is good, god of war 3 is great but not a ps3 IP, uncharted is really bad... Plattforming sucks, puzzles are nothing special, shooting is disgusting... Its an interactive movie like heavy rain but heavy rain was better, because it knew what it was.. Uncharted on the other hand tries to be a liberating game, where you can do stuff but it doesn't achieve that

@vaporized1000 Uncharted is another third person shooter with boring gameplay so no masterpiece there. Dead Space has awesome game play due to the variety in enemies and weapons. Dead Space also has movie like moments like the church segment.
