why is there 36 dub but 118 and ongoing sub episode

@sbgnumber1 Because 36 episodes have been released on DVD by Funimation (well, make that 48, since some got the latest DVD early) and 118 have aired in Japan.

This series has been airing for about two and a half years, and Funimation only just got the license to show it last year. And they're not gonna show/dub more than 48 episodes unless people pay to watch their stuff, because dubbing costs money and takes a lot of effort.

@brownsugr111 No. Funimation did not redub this. You probably saw the Animax dub.

And what do people see in Natsu's Animax voice actor? He doesn't even act! He just talks, barely changing the tone of his voice no matter what his character feels or how much of it he's feeling, like he doesn't even try to match Natsu's colorful personality. He just sounds like he's always holding himself back even when the character is supposed to be "fired up".

This is Funimation's way of saying, "Buy our DVDs or join our Elite Subscriber membership if you want to see more of our stuff."

There are 36 episodes out in English (48 if you got the latest DVD early). And with our money and support, they may even dub season 2. Though it's practically guaranteed that they'll do it, considering how eager they are to do it.

And no. This was not made by the creator of One Piece. The art becomes different.

Funimation has 36 episodes released in English on DVD, will release 48 by February, and will most likely upload more online by then. They will likely continue to release episodes beyond that, but only with the support of people who don't decide to exclusively site hop.

In fact, it's so sharp in its writing and so well-acted that I've enjoyed the first half of this season dubbed by Funi more than the whole season subbed. Screw voices, this dub is as good a way to watch Fairy Tail as Japanese!

Dinosaur King was also pretty cool. It brought back my memories of when they did Pokemon. In fact, it's their least edited series, and that's saying a lot.

But that's it. Of the hundreds of shows they've done, each having varying degrees of censorship, those two shows were dubbed well by 4Kids. I can't imagine what they'd do to Fairy Tail. But in terms of voices alone, you can't do worse than Animax...

I agree though back when 4kids had Pokemon it was okay and Dinosaur Kings was well done as well as a few others. Animax should just quit while they can still keep what little dignity they have left.
