To say a fish will die because it doesnt have an anemone is nonsense. You should be advising NOT to get an anemone. They require mature tanks and even exerienced reefkeepers have trouble keeping anemones alive.

@ross5773 ive kept a couple alive people snag em when i do got a good carpet now but if the clown gets ich or somthing it looses its slime coat then the anemone may kill it shitty and who ever said it will die with out one is a tard my maroon refuses to host the carpet it only like the bubbles lol

Ok u need to buy a protein skimmer you want to but at least 30 pounds of live rock, and wait at least two weeks untill u add a fish

@chunky7003 i think most aquarist says... 1lbs of live rock per gallon... but still i see alot of people do what they want too.. either too little or too much. i just started mine myself 29gallon with just 13 lbs of live rocks and 2 clown fish in a QT

@GraffFreak7 Good luck, they can be a handfull. I have had a few pairs over the years and to say they are aggresive is an understatement. Madness and stress go Maroon, peace and quiet and the easy life go percula.

The best species of clown you could ever own in my opinion is the Clarkii
