  • Hi David: What gauge of strings are you using there... I am having a hard time being able to vibrato on bends with 10's. Are you using 9's ?

  • I just broke the G-string fingering A minor.

  • Dave, you are your peoples videos have helped me a lot and i thank you. I rock on a telecaster and i was wonder if you have any videos that teach rock riff that shine with that twangy sound?

  • this lesson made me realize how weak my pinky is

  • Great lessons, but I hate that tone. Sounds too metal for me. Sounds like you should be shredding rather then playing blues rock

  • whats with will billy?

  • i need some vox wah wah fast rock blues bending lick lessons...I can't figure out how to do it...PLZ PLZ help me...plz

  • This intro "Hey hey people" sounds so retarded...

  • they need to DO HD 720P OR DO FULL SCREEN 480p

  • arsenal of destruction sounds abit gay, maybe make music would be a better word to use, love the tutorials, just joking obviosly, keep it up ;)

  • been playing to years im able to play stairway to heaven etc sould i keep going??

  • Thank You..

  • Woah, you really get a lot out of that minor pentatonic scale... Thanks for the lesson!

  • Hey David, I'm a full member of next level guitar.com, is the e book you offer in this video available on the site? Also could you tell me the amp you're using in this video? It has great tone! Thanks- James

  • Hi James - the amp I am using in this video is just a small Fender Champ 12 tube amp from the 80s - the one known as the RED KNOB champ - cool little practice amp - I plugged straight into that amp and used the amp distortion and a splash of amp reverb - that is it - oh, and yeah much of the book is also covered in the written lessons on the website - enjoy!

    David T

  • Great lick. Really helps me with my pentatonic scale.

How long have you played guitar?

  • ive never seen a les paul like that! what is it?

  • @bashioum tobacco burst

  • Hi - the guitar I use in this lesson is a limited edition 1995 Les Paul Standard. Cool guitar - take care and keep on rockinG!

  • @rockongoodpeople thx man! it is a beauty!!

  • Nice jazz runs... I never took the time to learn how to play lead up & down the fingerboard. I usually just pick inside the simple chords...around the 1, 2nd, & 3rd fret. I still like to bend strings with my pinky though. Enjoyed it though... I'll try & see if it works for me. I don't have all that much patience lol

  • I dunno, but I simply cannot play these kind of "fast pinky bend licks". Paul Gilbert songs, maybe, but not the type of lick you're playing XD

Time to take out the axe and try this out :)

  • Cool lick !!

  • haha! your dog came to say whats up.

  • Superb lesson thanks mate. Shows the importance of building up the strength of your pinky - as my ring finger keeps wanting to muscle in and play the notes meant for the pinky - especially for the bends. A matter of practice as always..

  • oh what a feeling 05:46: toyota

  • Hi David, thanks for reminding me that I need to work on my pinky. Great tip. I also want to share one of my ways to practice bends, I use my Snark tuner to help get the bend in tune while my ear gets trained. The tuner will show any flat or sharp tone and helps me lock onto the correct one.

    Rock on pal.

  • 8:10 I like how it squeeled

  • Can i have your Les Paul?

  • can u do a video on how to create a guitar solo for rock/metal?

  • Love the blue note

  • I will practice this on my new Martin HD-28 :-) to really build up the fingers. I think it has 13's on it. Then when I go back to my LP or Strat it feels so easy to play. Love the videos. I really loved your video at the Acoustic guitar store with wall to wall acoustics. I learned a lot about the tone woods from that one.

  • that's a beautiful guitar you have there ^^

  • i would like to learn more scales. i have played bass for 8 years but never really gotten into scales. i know major scales, but flat and penta scales isn't really something i have learned. thank you for showing us how to play such things

  • Remember, who's to say how the fuck you play? Do you think all the great guitarists bend using only there ring finger? Fuck no, they did it there own way. I personally like to mix it up bending with my ring, middle and occasionally pinky fingers. As long as it sounds good don't worry about what other people say ( Good advice for guitar playing in general )

  • @masterofscotland hey chill out bro. Since everybody should play their own way why don't we all play upside down, hanging from a bridge, bending guitar strings with our dicks

  • @TimBirkenholz I'm chilled man, if we could ACTUALLY do it like that and it sounded good then why not?

  • @masterofscotland Hey man you're stealing my ideas here

  • @masterofscotland

Do you think, using foul language, makes you an expert?

  • @suathop Nope, does not using foul language make YOU an expert? Also am I'm not saying I'm an expert I'm clearly stating my opinion.

  • @RussellSyx Grow some balls

  • Damn, what a good lesson! :)

  • Can't stand this guy.

  • @AustinHammy32 then gtfo.

  • Hey David,it would be awesome if you could do a lesson based on Muse guitar playing!! You rock, keep up the excelent work :)

  • Erm guys, believe me you want to bend, using the ringfinger, not the pinky.

Btw that les paul looks like an acoustic guitar lol, especially the finish but also the inlays XD

  • @TimBirkenholz not true every finger has a different sound and the way you play things has a lot to do with the way it sounds so in reality you can bend with any finger. So most times thats what finger they use but i mean there is just no reason to not bend with all four fingers.

  • @Livinginthemusic1 okay suit yourself.

  • @TimBirkenholz well, its not just me my friend.

  • @Livinginthemusic1 im just saying, when you bend with your ring finger and all the fingers behind it's easy to let all of the fingers go except for the ringfinger. Which gives you possibilities. Try to keep a string bend up with only your pinky. It's not like the difference of putting a guitar slide on your pinky or ring finger, this is different. but hey I was just giving a tip I learned from players. But yeah go ahead, I'd recommend using steroids

  • @TimBirkenholz ...well its time for you to take some more lessons kid.....the pinky is the dude....

Yeah, that lespaul reeaaallly looks like an acoustic...duh

    ..

  • @gigicalifornia naw you see normally les pauls have trapezoideum inlays and that finish looks kinda different than the normal darkbrown/black/brown burst.

No I don't take lessons, I take moms

  • Great lesson! Thank you!

  • Love the Les Paul bro!

  • Hi David awesome video can you give a lesson about pink floyd licks and scales?? that would be really great! :)
