I have played both EXTENSIVELY. I love World of Warcraft and play it A LOT! LOTRO has awesome graphics but PVP? WTF? Well, I don't care about that enough but...character creation is good. I haven't played in months because I started playing on a WoW private server. (Blizzlike) Hmm WoW fighting is just awesome and much more fun. The animations in LOTRO...suck.

Lotro has bettter graphics,gameplay, community, and storyline. the only thing wow gots is pvp, and unless you plan on doing that 24/7, you shouldn't play it, anyways, you won't get anywhere in wow, there'll be those no lifes who lvl their char. 3 times as fast as you and will always own you, theres no point, and they have attitude problems too.lotro players are always nice and will help you and not once in all my days of playing lotro did i have to put a player on ignore or even think about it.
I heard the LOTRO people are working on fixing the PvP system..I hope they do!!!..Hope they come up with something...and since its coming out F2p..it will bring in a lot of new people like me :).

lotro is so cool! The graphics are really nice and they've made some really fun instance that is not the same boring, as in all other games. And it gets even more fun when playing together in the group, because there are really good teamplay. if people want to play their class. Then there is also a fun pvp zone. you can play the evil as Uruk, orc, spider or warg. or play as the good. LOTRO (5/5)

i play wow and i tried out lotro as i was playing lotro i realized how much wow sucked. its 5 dollars more a month and you cant pay a one time fee like lotro wow has a terrible storyline and lotros story line is really really really good. i am now quiting wow to play lotro. Well after playing WoW for Quite some time i decided to try out lotro ( was not expecting much) and i must say lotro has gripped me great world and very immersive really enjoying it atm both of them are great games and both worth trying but must say i am enjoying lotro alot
World of Warcraft isnt THAT Good compared to LotrO, ive played both and im going back to LotrO soon. But World of Warcraft dont got really a main story, LotrO is newer and are on their Third Expansion, and with newer i mean 1½ years. LotrO was in development since 1999 or 2000ish.
Yea, blizz Invented their story, From Ripping most off the Races off other games, Fantasy books etcetera.
I've played both WoW and LotRo and I must say both kept me interested. The graphics are indeed a lot better with LotRo because the game is more advanced due to it releasing far later then WoW. Plus, WoW started out with their own idea, LotRo indeed did have their idea from Tolk. I believe LotRo would have been a lot better if they followed the 2nd Age instead of 3rd or WotR. As far as game play goes, both games exceed at it. I mean, the two games are different so of course there are differences.
world of warcraft its exelent lot of quests great pvp sistem (bg arenas world) and pve (dungeon raids) and the rivality between the 2 factions make it a pasion xD
The WoW crew invented their own story.... the LOTRO crew had it on a silver platter from Tolkien... also LOTRO is newer so quite naturally the graphics are better. WoW has better quests and funnier gameplay.
LOTRo is only MMO in which player may follow the story=every player is part of the story.You follow the fellowship of the ring,and you can`t run out of quests.

Lotro is based on the book of Lord of the rings so u cant meet film characters in that...
in WoW you can also meet characters like the lich king,Thrall,Sylvanis windrunner, you can participate in Arthas's defence on strongbrad. a guild in WoW that plays just AC/DC and Metallica, i believe my guild does..Blizzard didnt want really good graphics. they wanted it to look kinda like the other Warcraft games.

I haven't played LotRo yet but i would have to give any contest between WoW and LotR to LotR. Tolkien set the standard for the modern fantasy genre and (dont get me wrong here I love wow) wow is a rip off of LotR. a fun rip off but still a rip off.

well for one it is welcoming so when u see it your like WOW i cant wait to play. basically it puts a positive atitude for when you play. if the login was bad you will not be welcomed and excited as much to play the game.
Both are good MMOs. I think WoW is more fun to play, but I prefer LotR's community over WoW's in general. :X

Lotro has bettter graphics,gameplay, community, and storyline. the only thing wow gots is pvp, and unless you plan on doing that 24/7, you shouldn't play it, anyways, you won't get anywhere in wow, there'll be those no lifes who lvl their char. 3 times as fast as you and will always own you, theres no point, and they have attitude problems too.lotro players are always nice and will help you and not once in all my days of playing lotro did i have to put a player on ignore or even think about it.

lotro is so cool! The graphics are really nice and they've made some really fun instance that is not the same boring, as in all other games. And it gets even more fun when playing together in the group, because there are really good teamplay. if people want to play their class. Then there is also a fun pvp zone. you can play the evil as Uruk, orc, spider or warg. or play as the good. LOTRO (5/5)

i play wow and i tried out lotro as i was playing lotro i realized how much wow sucked. its 5 dollars more a month and you cant pay a one time fee like lotro wow has a terrible storyline and lotros story line is really really really good. i am now quiting wow to play lotro. This is just my opinion on what i feel about it

World of Warcraft isnt THAT Good compared to LotrO, ive played both and im going back to LotrO soon. But World of Warcraft dont got really a main story, LotrO is newer and are on their Third Expansion, and with newer i mean 1½ years. LotrO was in development since 1999 or 2000ish.
Yea, blizz Invented their story, From Ripping most off the Races off other games, Fantasy books etcetera.

I've played both WoW and LotRo and I must say both kept me interested. The graphics are indeed a lot better with LotRo because the game is more advanced due to it releasing far later then WoW. Plus, WoW started out with their own idea, LotRo indeed did have their idea from Tolk. I believe LotRo would have been a lot better if they followed the 2nd Age instead of 3rd or WotR. As far as game play goes, both games exceed at it. I mean, the two games are different so of course there are differences.

The WoW crew invented their own story.... the LOTRO crew had it on a silver platter from Tolkien... also LOTRO is newer so quite naturally the graphics are better. WoW has better quests and funnier gameplay.

i have got to lvl 70 on wow,level 48 on age of conan, level 17 on archlord, and i played runescape a long while back i think i got to 60 or something. i had a more enjoyable social experience with wow,and a more realistic and graphical experience with age of conan. the rest arent comparible, i am looking for a game with a good amount of players and a somewhat good graphical experience, considering my system specs are evga 790i ultra sli,q84003.2ghz,9600gt,4 gigs of ddr3 1600mhz,srry char count

Lotro is based on the book of Lord of the rings so u cant meet film characters in that...
in WoW you can also meet characters like the lich king,Thrall,Sylvanis windrunner, you can participate in Arthas's defence on strongbrad. a guild in WoW that plays just AC/DC and Metallica, i believe my guild does..Blizzard didnt want really good graphics. they wanted it to look kinda like the other Warcraft games.

I haven't played LotRo yet but i would have to give any contest between WoW and LotR to LotR. Tolkien set the standard for the modern fantasy genre and (dont get me wrong here I love wow) wow is a rip off of LotR. a fun rip off but still a rip off.

well for one it is welcoming so when u see it your like WOW i cant wait to play. basically it puts a positive atitude for when you play. if the login was bad you will not be welcomed and excited as much to play the game.
