The final album sounds worse because it's way too compressed and overmixed. I bought the CD, but had to get the torrent of the Guitar Hero version because I couldn't stand the sound of the album.

@smittycent7 St. Anger sucked this is no where near St. Anger Death Magnetic reminds me of And Justice For All and the Black Album St, Anger was just a cry for help remember Jason left the band and James went to rehab for his drinking issues we didnt have a bass player for St. Anger so we used Bob Rock on bass and he also produced the albun and the drums sounded like shit on shit Anger Death Magnetic wins

St. Anger is my favorite Metallica album. People hate on it just because it's by Metallica. I bet if St. Anger was written by some other band peoples opinions would change. St. Anger in my opinion is one of the most underrated albums in history.

Agree! I personally love St. Anger. Its so harsh, aggresive and hm... dirty ;). It is cool album and even therapeutic! When you are pissed off after school, there is nothing better than St. Anger! It is pure aggresion, but in some way it helps with getting rid off aggresion within yourself.
