  • Awesome

  • OOoh these fucking comments

This song was meant for you.

  • Don't feed the trolls

  • wtf, it was awesome until the gay fuckin singing at 1:23

  • @RhaolDuke 0 Taste in music I see

  • I like the old version better. It was a tad bit faster and more intense. But this new version is still kickass!

  • haha "new directions" more like nude erections

  • call me stupid, but i get a feeling that the lyrics fit the Assassin's Creed story...

  • Are these guys Christian at all? Not that it matters, I've just heard different information from different people and it'd be cool to find out.

  • @Chickenbreast97 Misha is Jewish, don't know if he practices or not! Don't know about the others.

  • I'm a god... consider me fraked

  • So... is this song based on Battlestar Galactica or something because I'm not seeing it

  • this might be my favorite Periphery song just because of how amazing Spencer's vocals are in it.

  • I'm sure they're Battlestar Galactica fans.

  • @Morfinn2009 In one of the band blogs I think Nolly is watching some BSG :D

  • djentlemen.

  • It gives me the shivers everytime I listen to the highest note of "Peacefully" at 2:54

  • i sang this to my girlfriend and she dryhumped the shit out of me

  • idc if they're atheist lyrics or not i'm catholic and this band KICKS ASS!!!

  • @XThatGuyUWishUWerex You really shouldn't care if the lyrics are related to religion or not in the first place. If you think music's good, that should be the end of it.

  • This song makes me want to cripple giants.

  • @nachoramses I thought I was the only one

  • @nachoramses Cripple the djentile Giants with arrows to the knees.

  • 2:31-2:59 is my favourite part. the vocals are soo intense

  • Frakkin' toasters...

  • this is how I don't give a shit about chrome books

  • I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR A DOWNLOAD OF THIS WITH VOCALS EVERYWHERE! Does anybody know if it is available yet and if so where from? I could only find the instrumental on itunes. Amazing song, you guys truly are the cleverest band around nowerdays, it is good to see that there are still musicians who actually put some thought into what they are writing rather than just tuning stupidly low and thrashing about :P you are a real inspiration, keep up the good work guys, cant wait for the new album! :D

  • @OWHall take the url of this vid and copy and paste it to flv2mp3.com

  • @master5string1 Usually id be fine with that but this is periphery man! They deserve money for this stuff! :)

  • @OWHall tru

  • @OWHall The one on iTunes isn't instrumental, that's a cock-up. I bought the EP and found that weird, the vocals are there. You can't even buy an instrumental version of this!

  • Battlestar Galactica :D

  • Is it me, or is Periphery slowly morphing to Protest The Hero?

  • @SonataArctica6666 That's definitely just you

  • @SonataArctica6666 i totally agree

  • Frak this band.

  • I have my own interpretation of the lyrics, which is too long to post here, but these lyrics still remind me of the "Something Wicked This Way Comes" Saga by Iced Earth...

  • @squattingmachine i think these ones are probably right seeing as periphery posted them ??? just saying

  • @LawrenceThePro Noun 1. interpretation - a mental representation of the meaning or significance of something

Just for reference. It does have dual meanings.

  • SONOFABITCH!!!!! I shall go pre-order right now!!!! =) I have yet to hear a song from these guys that I didn't love.

  • @nannyjuice Lol it's been out for 8 months.

  • @WinRaRxD Seriously? Well where the hell have I been? =D

  • @2:58 perfection

  • You guys should do Mayhem Fest 2012 :)

  • The lyrics are mythical and really frakkin' cool. don't turn this into a bullshit 2012 debate. PLEASE. I <3 PERIPHERY!!!

  • I think this song would get more listens if it was actually in the "related" section of there other songs.

  • you guys i don't mean to be a dick. But why don't you just listen to the music and stop debating whether or not its for or against god.

It's music, the singer wrote lyrics to. Those lyrics should be interpreted how you interpret it, enjoy the song. It's beast.

The song is called "FUCK the gods" frak is from battlestar gallatica nad means fuck. Shits real

  • Comment removed

  • i still think its about New world order...this band was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO good live

  • @mayhem409 Aliens!

  • Atheist lyrics for the fucking win.

  • @CitiesInTheSky You know this song is about Battlestar Galactica, right?

  • @lostenmusic Yeah I know it has something to do with that, however the lyrics are still very anti-religion.

  • @lostenmusic @CitiesInTheSky has a point that they are anti-religious but yes the song is about BSG, but you could interpret it that way if you want but I don't think that would be an accurate portrayal of Periphery's beliefs

  • @Fateralus the lyrics are neither anti-religion, nor are they bsg

  • @Periphery Well I do believe we've both just been told.

  • @lostenmusic Aliens!

  • Thank god that at least one Periphery song is in HD-quality in Youtube. Gotta buy your albums this weekend because I want them all!

  • dat high

  • THE GODS

    THEY ARE FRAKED

  • man, spencer really does have quite a set of pipes on him :D

  • Periphery has some first-rate musicianship going on and though I don't like the vocal style they use, I have to admit, the vocalist knows his stuff, as does everyone else in this band.

  • Up to minute 01:25 or so,..... that could have been Freezer from DragonBall Z who wrote the lyrics as he arrived to Namek!!!!

  • @ravenFF32 Frieza* lol

  • @IxAmxSpartacus Frieza is the Japanese name, which, again, is the way the word "Freezer" is transcribed according to their pronunciation. So I don´t think it really matters

  • I wish they used less grunt/scream in their music, since his normal singing voice is awesome!

  • @gangsterthomas1000 You're just on the wrong song.

  • @StewieSwan yeah I know they have songs where the majority of vocals are clean, but I still would like it if they just grunted occasionally and not that much :P but yeah this isn't really the right song I suppose

  • i love how periphery's singer can scream AND he has a voice :D

  • I was forced to listen to a Black Veiled Brides song just now.... had to come listen to this after to get a dose of some real metal so I didn't kill myself

  • @matty0234 dude i like both black veil brides and periphery.and for the record Black veil brides arent metal.get your facts right before you assume they are correct and state them

  • @matty0234 This exact same thing just happened to me, not kidding in the slightest.

  • @matty0234 ... I was just forced to listen to a song by them, and came to this for the same reason and saw your comment...

  • @Rob5246 ...I was also forced to listen to a song by them, but Rob Norman is stupid and French

  • best djent song ever!

  • This song seriously won't leave my head! That's definately not a bad thing :D

  • how is somthing so heavy!!! so tastefully groovey!!!!

  • 2:56 i started cumming bile

  • I want to go play Mass Effect now.

  • I've been singing since I was 15 and my vocal range is still nowhere near Spencers, this makes me depressed and awed.

Hear that bit at 2:55, that's the sound barrier shattering.

  • @Abearnamedfrederick Me too. I'm 41 now and I couldn't touch this guy with the freaking space shuttle or a spatula. Don't be depressed, you have your own style too. It's good to have someone like this to learn from but don't let it get you down. Stay with the awe and find your own.

  • @Abearnamedfrederick shattering at 2:55 and completely breaking at 3:04.

  • @Abearnamedfrederick

True enough that Spencer's got a fucking ridiculous vocal range, the only problem is that he's also not exactly accurate with it... Hence pretty much all of his live performances...

  • @ArrrPirate666 Yo, I was lucky enough to see them on the frak the gods tour on the second or third date (Atlanta) Spencer was spot on the whole freakin time. He even tripped backwards once and still kept on screaming.

I guess its cuz his voice wasnt quite brutalized from the tour

    yet.

  • fucking tits!

  • During the... Chorus??, Spencer sounds kinda like the guy from Protest the Hero.

  • Based on these lyrics, I think that Spencer studies Quantum Physics! If you haven't read about it, look up some videos on it. It's mindblowing, and extremely inspirational. We're on the verge of the human ascension to a higher state of consciousness, and Periphery is helping to spread the word through their art!!

  • Frakkin Amazing Song!!! Ultra-frakking-djent!!!!!!!

  • Mother fraker!

  • Spencer! Daaaaamn.

  • 2:05 - 2:58 is yum

  • This song gave me extreme chills...then proceeded to cure my bout of constipation.

  • @BachtotheFutureBWV lol thats some funny-ass shit :D

  • Does this have todo with nephilims or anunakis, o something like that or is it my idea?

  • One of my favorites! Love the part at 2:30!

  • I was so happy to see this EP in a music store in upstate NY

  • Bring us away from what we know!!

  • VOCAL TRACK PLEASE !

  • mbh

  • YES!!!!

  • the riff at the end literally blows my mind, the best riff i've ever heard

  • Two things I will be recommending to people for a long time: Periphery and Battlestar Galactica. I want to see a music video of Centurion Cylons performing this.

  • @Jarvis4889 screw BSG, SGU all the way

  • @lkaruga yeah as much as I loved BSG and as slow as SGU started off I came to love SGU more then BSG. too bad it got cancelled.

  • @IGNsucks Well said. Hopefully they will pick up where they left off.

  • @IGNsucks AGREED

  • fucking fantastic as usual

  • Comment removed

  • navy seal team 6 played this on their ipods before and while they fucked up osama.

  • @melodametal :S ??? where did you get this information?

  • @periphery will u have my babies?

  • Return to the planet = FF VII Reference? Fuckin brootal

  • @seamonkey18 I definitely have to agree with you here. The entire song seems to fit almost perfectly with FF VII. Making me love this song even more ^_^

  • Damn his screams got better

  • @000sicair first thing i thought too when i heard this. sounds fuckin sick.

  • So, is this song about Battlestar Galactica? Because if it is, it's the coolest song ever. Not a huge metal fan myself (I mean, I do dabble), but even if it's not about BSG, this isn't bad.

  • is it me or does he say "for one thousand fucking years"?

  • @PRWOLF1212 I was thinking the same XD

  • My minds eye sees the coolest shit especially with these lyrics. I really hope they make a music video of this song ...along with Captain On!

  • Intro vocals sound a bit like Born Of Osiris. NOT A BAD THING...Maybe a BADASS thing....Vocals improved amazingly. Spencer's voice now sound's like the voice of Jesus himself if he were to join a super groovy metal band instead of turning all that water into alcoholic beverages.

  • Comment removed

  • Wow! I heard an instrumental cut of this and it was badass! This is even better!

  • Love the tunes reasons why a like periphery; Complex yet pleasant to the ears lyrics profound most elevating trancendal writing style yet this one isnt as transcending as the others periphery songs i've heard. But still awesome job guys love it!!!

  • I start spouting truth and my comments are deleted in 2 seconds and anything with truth in it won't post. I type fuck fuck fuck and it posts immediately. R u fucking kidding me.

  • Correction: "For One Thousand FUCKING Years." EPIC.

  • The Battlestar Galactica reference brought me here.

  • Misha, Jake, Alex, Spencer, Matt -

I could not express to any of you how much I love your music. Every single one of you is an incredible musician in each respect, and all of your playing and writing (both musically and lyrically) is phenomenal. As a guitarist myself, your music has served as the biggest inspiration. I personally want to thank each of you for the music you've made. I normally don't have a favorite band, but Periphery has without-a-doubt earned the spot.

    God Bless.

    - Rick

  • @gravyonmypotatoes You missed Tom!

  • i've just reached a power level of over 9000

  • alex bois :( noooooooooooo. goodnight sweet prince

  • @wonderbread1005 why r u trying to sound like a prophet lol

  • @matvelilla hahah not my intention i promise,

  • i think they also talk about the reptilians and illuminati. Mostly all of sumerian record bands speak of the truth.

  • @wonderbread1005 Haha no we dont, and most of us dont believe in that shit either, Spencer might but he just writes about space an sci-fi kinda shit cuz we all love that!

  • @Periphery its a damn shame that i missed u guys in holland, this is good stuff ^^

  • @Periphery Oh sweet , i guess any of us can perceive it in our own way.

  • @Periphery May I ask why I can't buy Oxmodius and your guy's cover of "One" on iTunes?

  • @MsOgmudbone

because oximodius is free? its on misha's soundclick page...

i think the cover of one is on the homefront soundtrack.

  • @iclipseco Grassy ass, I feel clueless now.

  • @Periphery I call bullshit. It's supposed to be kept secret, so it's understandable. But for the sake of your fans (DJentlemen), you ain't gotta lie to kick it. We worship Periphery for its euphoria.

  • @IlluminEy3 Haha only a conspiracy theorist would come to that conclusion based off of my answer. Honestly you can take whatever you want from the lyrics, thats the beauty of it!

  • @Periphery Well, on your facebook you have a shirt (red) with the illuminati sign on the front, and it says "OPEN YOUR EYES" on the back.. if you dont believe in it, why make that shirt?

    /photo.php?fbid=483911933216&set=a.450007588216.238954.19059968216&type=1&theater

  • @XcLe3t open your eyes is a lyric rom their song light you retard, take your conspiracies to someone that cares

  • @tylersabourin12 then what a about the Illuminati sign on the front of the shirt..? Many here cares, asshole... now answer me

  • @XcLe3t i dont have to answer you nor do i care, but my answeris, they made the shirt, so whatever they put on it im sure they just liked the look of, maybe it is to get people to think, it is all about how you perceive it, i really just came here to listen to music, if i wanted to learn about conspiracies i'd watch the history channel, theres alot of those type shows on that channel

  • @tylersabourin12 trust me, what you get on history channel is fake.. if ur really interested in whats going on (guess ur not, but just saying..), you should first look at the documentary "Loose Change 9/11", so that you get a little look on what's happened...

  • @XcLe3t "Loose Change" was COMPLETELY debunked by ACTUAL scientists in a Popular Science article. I feel like some people dont even bother fact-checking...

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • @Periphery I have to respectfully disagree with you on that. I have seen the supposed debunking and it was so contrived anyone can tell that it was just gutter science at it's finest. Yes they have proven that in a controlled setting with an unlimited supply of jet fuel and hours and hours later it will melt structural steel. The problem is the jet fuel at the towers dissipated shortly after the planes hit. The only thing that was burning afterwords was furniture and plastic.

  • @SeanBrown494 so, Periphery, watch loose change 9/11 again, this time with an open mind!

  • @XcLe3t I watched it with an open mind the first time around, believed it, and then actually did some research and found out it was all bullshit. I just dont believe in conspiracy theories, they just arent plausible.

  • @Periphery well we all have different views, and if thats ur meaning then i respect i:) who im i actually talking to here? would be cool to know. Im just a 16 year old guy from norway, and im basicly just honored to dicuss this with with you at all. Love your music, trying to learn racecar on drums actualy, but its already a deadborn project, its fucking impossible.

  • @XcLe3t im misha,

  • @Periphery Bulb himself, awesome!:o the guitarist in my band is very inspired by you, u're the best at what u're doing.

oh and btw, this is the LAST thing i will trouble you with, (and u're like "oh no..") but please just check it out, and give it a thought.. if you're not convinced after this, i'll end it here. Promise!

    /watch?v=8XRMrMdn0NQ&feature=player_embedded

    thanks :)

  • @XcLe3t There is a difference between open-minded and naive. If you take loose change facts at face value, then yes, that pseudo documentary would be one hell of a revelation. When you actually go check what loose change presents, you'll be disappointed by the poor scientific evaluation and awful misquoting. And no, fact checking does not including watching sound bites on youtube of what random people think and say about it.

  • @XcLe3t it was a design that our merch company came up with, and we thought it looked cool, its as simple as that haha. and the design was based around the lyric from our song Light, which has nothing to do with conspiracy theories haha.

  • @Periphery ok, then i give up arguing.. x) since i got answered by periphery now, it means that i can get answered again, so ill throw in a cliché-comment in hope of you seeing it, and giving me an answer :D

    Come to Norway please! :D

  • @IlluminEy3 Did you just call bullshit on Periphery?!?! BLASPHEMY lol

  • @Periphery Space and Sci-Fi are probably the most incredible things out there. I thought Periphery's music went well with it.

  • @wonderbread1005 ...Pwnt.
