Was anyone else surprised that the NRA and Ohioans for concealed carry both officially endorsed Ted Strickland over Republican John Kasich? I thought the NRA and Republicans went hand-in-hand. He must really hate guns for the NRA to step away from him and endorse a Democrat like that.
And you were one of the people who got it worng John, one of the very people who was voting to take away our rights and run our lives john. you are a phony, a politician, you are niether hot nor cold so I shall spit thee out..
Wow, I am really struggling with who to vote for. I believe that Kasich is weak on the 2nd amendment, but is he a free market, limited government guy in all other aspects? If he is I might swallow hard and vote for him. That said, I don't really know what Strickland has done in order for me to not vote for him, is he a socialist? Or a just a politician on the fence with "D" after his name?
@RDiMeolo Just another politician with a "D." He's not "on the fence" he's in the middle of the road, and people use the term socialist entirely too much. Example: If he was a socialist, you would know. If you have to ask, chances are he's not and you've been tricked by the word "socialist."
@bigrobdeezey A lot of people have socialistic beliefs but don't want people to call them socialist. Example: people who believe the government should run the health care industry, but they don't want you calling them socialist. Or people that believe there are banks or car companies that should be bailed out or bought out by the government, but would not like you calling them socialist. Your right they may not really be a socialist, because they could more accurately be called communist.
@RDiMeolo Thank you for proving my point. When a politician stands up and calls for a complete government takeover of everything, including Bill's Pawn Shop, they're socialist/communist. When they say that a heart surgeon should make the same as the guy who works at Arby's (and not only that, but he doesn't get to choose his career in the first place) then that politician is a socialist/communist. Other than that, calling them socialist/communist shows that you don't know what those words mean.
@bigrobdeezey Well said, I think we are on the same page. I guess I'm just confused, you just don't like labeling them? Your saying that most people that call others socialist, don't really know what a socialist is? Right?
@RDiMeolo Yes. People say BO is socialist because he passed a tiny bit of healthcare legislation? People don't know what socialism is. Those same people say "Obama is the most liberal president we've ever had." Really? We're in the worst economic times since the Great Depression, and take a peek at what FDR introduced back then. Some super-left legislation, a little thing called SOCIAL security that Tea Partiers looove now. People just like to talk shit. I wish they were smart, but most aren't.
@bigrobdeezey Oh, dear. I don't think we are on the same page at all. I don't want to this to go on and on, but I can't help but reply. Barack is easily a socialist if not a communist, he strongly believes in wealth redistribution and government intervention in the market, that fits the definition quite well. This is the first time I have ever heard on the health care legislation described as "little", its thousand of pages long and represents a government take over of 16% of our economy.
@RDiMeolo No, not quite. He'd have to take over completely, which he never said he would do. Sorry, but 16% ain't socialism. His healthcare plan never attempted to control production. He caved on the public option. Are you out of your mind?
"It makes no rational sense (calling Obama a socialist). It clearly means that people don't understand what socialism is." -- Billy Wharton, co-chair of the US Socialist Party
@bigrobdeezey I don't know any Tea Partiers that are for Social Security, I certainly am not. Barack is one of the worst presidents because he seeks to fundamentally change American and he sees the constitution as a speed bump on his way to putting American in its rightful place in the eyes of the rest of the world. He does everything to limit individual freedom and everything to promote what he calls "collective salvation". He seeks to destroy the fundamentals that made this country great.
@RDiMeolo That's where we disagree. I've never heard him say anything about destroying fundamentals that made this country great. Like what? Letting taxes on the rich go back to still being lower than they were under conservative god Ronald Reagan? Come on.

John Kasich was one of only 12% of all Republicans in the House to vote for the AW ban. Had it not been for him, and Tom Ridge, it never would have passed. I trust him with my gun rights as much as I trust Bob Taft, who also said in his campaign that he supported the 2nd Amendment.
Strickland has ALWAYS stood by us. I am a Republican and I will stand by Strickland.
If the poling is close about 2 weeks or so out these little "Pink" cards are going to hit all the NRA members and every card will be seen by no less than 5 people per card. You IDIOTS with the ORCC and the state GOP just don't get it by listening to the useless elitists. You had a good candidate in Coughlin with a good record but you let corrupt fools tell you what to do. And then to say Dont ask any more of those questions? Are you ready to be lost in the wilderness for at least 10 years?
I am a Politically involved individual here in Ohio.
1. He never apologized for the Assault Weapons Ban that he voted for and Ted Strickland voted against.
2. He never clarified the Militia question being a personal Right or if the courts can infringe on it. John answer the question please, or is that too hard to ask?
You clowns in The Republican Party that have turned against the platform are going to have a rude awakening when November rolls around.
FUCK John Kasich !!! and so far Ted Strickland hasn't screwed us bad and I am really telling people I know on who is Pro Gun and who isn't.
I am tired of Anti-Gun idiots trying to tell me what is good for me and my Family like call the Police and wait for them to save the day, yeh right, whatever Toby and Company
I dont trust him. Its not what he says its what he does. I never heard him speak out for concealed carry in Ohio or lift a finger ever to expand gun owners rights. Ted Strictland has proven his support of Gun owners and has earned gun owners support. Ask Kasich for his NRA life member card. He cant show you one.
