The biggest difference between US and UK versions of this show is the length. This one's probably 30 minutes? That's mostly commercials when it runs on TV, which is also why its so dramatic. They can fit in more commercials without losing viewers when it seems like something "big" is happening. It's complete trash. If this restaurant were in the UK he would have given all the chefs a once-over, especially that sous chef.

The American series solves the problem by buying them a new kitchen and a new fridge. The owner was spending the money on his car, they didn't need Gordon Ramsay to buy a new kitchen, they needed to beat some sense into the owner.

Nobody in the British series had a new kitchen bought for them. Instead, Ramsay taught the staff to think in new ways. But in the US, the budget is supreme. If there's a problem, buy new stuff. Now Peter can drive his flash car in peace.
