He' a good player that can be great. he's on the cusp of getting it together an should be encouraged rather than criticized. His concepts, note choices, nuances are excellent and with some fine tuning would border on inspired and MOST importantly, he's doing something here that most don't. he's truly improvising. Not merely playing lines that have been carefully practiced and wrked out in advance. he's an artist in that respect and his solos will be different each time!

He IS playing in the moment rather than practiced riffs, sequences & patterns. His lines are mind derived, he is hearing this, joining the flow, the fretboard an extension of what he's hearing. Very rare to see that in even advanced players. because of that, he will be a sterling sucess as a professional musician, & a very creative and original one at that!
