I find it amazing that even here in the UK that even in the 21st Century our own people are suffering! I feel that a Dark Age is a foot come 2012 a new black death will arise not the end of the world that fiction and cult has written in doctrine!!!
@2490debrick Optimism is the key. Enjoy the music for what it is. Relax. Take a stock of beef jerky if you were previously worried along with sunglasses, a lawn chair, and a solid metal door. There. Doesn't that feel better?
I worry sometimes, too, all jokes aside. But unless you can do something about the unknown, focus on the more immediate issues.
Like politics. Economy. Enviromental issues in your town. What you can do to help them. Write letters. Pick up garbage. All of that. Good luck.
@chicagotransam 1st: he's not The Dude, he's Jeff Bridges. The Dude is a character. 2nd: if you think this is rubbish, that's fine -- we all have our opinions -- but Jeff Bridges has a long association and mutual respect for T. Bone Burnett and very much likes his music (as do many of us). 3rd: Jeff Bridges isn't hurting for cash and doesn't need to "try to make ends meet" by promoting things he doesn't believe in. 4th: if you're going to make critical comments at least try to be intelligent.
I saw him play this at ACL and it was the best live performance I've ever seen. Partially because I was so unnerved. Partially because I identified in way too many of the lyrics.
This performance is, simply put, both cerebral and orgasmic. T Bone is one righteous dude. His brilliance has been working on us for years, but this personal delivery is more savory than his namesake. He is so full of the human heart, hope, our certain fall, and our beloved saving grace. Also, I now have a mad, all-consuming crush on him. Swoon!
If you like this then you will SLove (super love) Robert Randolph! Check out Robert and his newest CD that came out just a couple weeks ago!! When Robert shreds on the pedal steel guitar, you can’t help but feel the music run through your body! Be sure to check him out at (his name) dot net. You will be able to get a free track when you visit him on his sight! WoOt WoOt!!

@nathanellis5 This would be an excellent work for you to generate the tab for yourself. You have video of much of the guitar work, and the rest you should be able to fill in by ear. I've been developing my ear and it's amazing what you can accomplish if you work at it. GIve it a try!
Its crazy how different this is from the origional. Its sung pretty much the same, the guitar is even the same, but without the other instruments its a totally different feel. This is my prefered version. T Bone Burnett is another inspiration for this generations folk and blues musicans.
Haunting ... chicken skin music, as Ry Cooder would call it, at its best. His singing reminds me of Bob Dylan's "Time Out Of Mind" Album (which is great stuff, too). And WHAT a guitar sound!
T-Bone has mostly works behind the scenes of the music industry as he was the musical director for "O Brother Where Art Thou," "I Walk The Line" and "Cold Mountain." He also produced the new Robert Plant/Allison Krause disc, "Raising Sand."
This is a man with a great critical atitude and producing great art. Live culture, don't consume it. DOWN WITH CAPITALIST CULTURE; DOWN WITH TOTALITARISM; FOR REAL LIFE!
