Personally I love Silent Hill, and I hate the whole Zombie thing... not that it's a bad plot, it's just waaaaaay overused. But I did like RE4 dispite my hatred for the overused zobie battles.

In 1996 RE1 was the scariest game ever made, and in that time, the Zombie thing wasn't like now, that there are Zombies everywhere, then it was only on Romero's movies, and a few comics. And after, in 1998, Silent Hill apeared, and then, SH1 was the scariest game. I miss that times, and I was only 2. And the things in RE4 aren't Zombies, that things destroyed the whole world of RE... fuck! hate them! D=

Resident Evil isn't full of shit, I love silent hill, but It can get damn boring. In resident evil, they make sure to keep the game filled with unexpected twists and turns. Although, the same can be said about silent hill, the moments of excitement come more frequently in resident evil than silent hill. ;3

no, RE is zombie horror. Regular horror games could and would come despite the fact RE was made. Horror movies were created soon after pictures were put on reels so the same would happen with video games.

Where RE focuses on mindless killing SH focuses on toying with your mind. It may not creep you out once you see it but later it's like BAM! and you remember it. I couldn't remember RE if it killed me. It was just a boring, easy series in general.

Agreed. I've played all teh games from both series' and can practically chronicalize all the fucking SHIT YOUR PANTS TERRIFYING moments in Silent Hill. I couldn't play that game in the dark without my back to something and constantly looking around. RE was just 'AAH! IT JUMPED AT ME!' then you get over it after blasting its face a few times.
