  • Dominic Bugatti and Frank Musker wrote the original tune "Yesterday's Hero" for The Sweet. waite did a really good rewrite with the lyrics and there's a fair bit of punch to this track. Queen's Brian May puts it among his "Desert Island Discs" it's also one of the few tracks that Mike Corby, founder of a group called The Babys, would have considered worthy of the original band.

  • Saw them warm up for Styx (Cornerstone tour) at the time Union Jacks came out. Still have the little quarter-size button (pin) from the handful John Waite threw out to those of us right in front sweating it out at the Seattle Coliseum!

  • @AlanJK47 The Cornerstone tour! Awesome!

  • Try getting union jack it like winning the lotto

  • Try gett

  • The Babys !!! Wow, what a gr8 band! Tthank you so very much 4 posting!

  • I found this album as well as Head First to be some of the MOST UPLIFTING, ENERGIZING road music of a myriad of artist's on long drives from Austin Texas to Key West Florida.

Jhon Waithe and the Baby's music NEVER, EVER, failed to put a smile on my face as I and my passengers exeberantly sang along. ;)

  • @littlemisstheater17 s'okay, kid, this song is amazing, kinda figures, I was 13 when this song came out...go figure, eh?

  • @littlemisstheater17

Don't listen to those idiots. You're just trying to fill the void in your life of qualty music by talented artists that your generation has been denied. So TURN it UP and check out the classics of the 60's, 70's, & 80's, Long live REAL MUSIC and REAL ROCK n ROLL

  • @littlemisstheater17 You are not weird you just know good music when you hear it. You are just starting the teen years and you will go through many changes..as a youngster and this song will help lift up spirits when you are down. When I was you age (MANY MANY YEARS AGO) I also liked older music and my friends that I was weird oh well.

  • @littlemisstheater17 You not weird, your are cool!

  • =]

  • I thought was the great song and I want to do it in my band!

  • Good song! but.. must say.. made me think of Supertramp!

  • Superb band that was severely underated by many ...Waites voice was pure magic

  • Great song, great memories. I distinctly remember this playing around 1979, when I was new to high school. Here's the part that burned into my psyche forever. There was a jukebox in the cafeteria. Mostly the seniors played it, us underlings couldn't touch it. Someone put on this great tune & music filled the space. I was on the sidelines, sitting on a bench, staring at a senior girl, amazingly hot, belting this out to friends of hers. I was mesmerized, couldn't take my eyes off her. Sweet youth.

  • a" keep positive" kinda of song...rock on! for a Latina chick

  • Like it!

  • one of the most underrated bands ever...along with the cars, and jefferson starship

  • @mercenary799 I isn't underrated, it is forgotten by most people. If you let hear it, they will all sing along.

  • ONE OF THE GREATEST SONGS EVER RECORDED !!!!

  • @2002nighttrain..I'm 42 and so glad we got to real music live vs the crap out there today.

  • literally puts me back on my feet!

  • Takes me back to the best damn time of my life...Sitt'in on my patio, firing up a fattie and just jamm'in...Wish that could have lasted...

  • @kickerpk Ain't it the truth?

  • When ever your down and out, And things aint going the way you want, And everyone is on your case, You tell them her I am Im back on my feet again.

  • love this song... it so explains me i am back on my feet again...love my prince charming...

  • when i heard the babies around late 1979 and up to the early 1980s i thought their music was made around 1974 and that i heard the band in the mid 1970s but that was not possible. i won't call the music dated but it did sound more mid 1970s compared to the other rock out during the waning days of disco.

  • I love John Waite's stuff. Took me forever to get his music on CD, because it was an import, and nobody was able to get it for me from any record store. 12 years later, and thanks to the internet, I got it.

  • DAMN GREAT MEMORIES

  • They used the song "yesterday's Heroes" by Sweet as basis for the song, but Sweet's song was nowhere near as good.

  • @jeffdp68

    yes thats right

    John said: I wasn't gonna be a loser now was'n't I ?

he didnot like the original lyrics

    Wouter

  • Man theese make me feel old! I saw them in concert for the first time in 1977 as a warm up band for Styx!!!

  • @tazlizard

  • this was my favorite roller skating song -- anybody want to lace up the old 4 wheelers and skate in a small circle for 5 hours -- love it

  • I can't find "back on my feet again" by Sweet.

  • i love the song ,just wondering why the robbed from sweet?

  • The song is "Back On My Feet Again" and the album cover shows a pair of shoes. Gotta luv the continuity.

  • This is a great song, I'm surprised this song didn't chart as high as "Isn't it Time" and "Everytime I Think of You" yet this song gets played on SIRIUS XM's Classic Rewind and the other two songs don't get played on that station
