Its not a new concept ya know! This movie is a remake and during the 50's the message was the same. We are watching you. Humans have a rare gift. Abuse that gift and powers greater than our own will intervene. I think the original was mostly about nuclear power, but the message remains the same. For some people, the only way they'd listen is if something like this happened.

The original 1951 film is my very favorite film of all time. No sci-fi film will ever be as fantastic. From Bernard Herrmann's superb eerie score and incidental music, to Michael Rennie's perfection as Klaatu, to the symbolic storyline, which is based loosely on the story of Jesus, I can only hope this new version presents some elements of the original, which was not just a film, it was an unforgettable experience.
