Actually, even though its still technically censoring, I thought it was very clever and interesting the way they dealt with Ozai. Think of it, even if they DID kill him, where would we be? Zuko would never find out about his mom, and Aang would only learn that the world is a cruel and terrible place.

This entire series makes me want to be a better person. Messages and life lessons, morals and the qualms within them. All beautiful and conflicting. This show makes my heart beat slow down. I cannot wait for the new series to come out.

The maintains its purity by not be overtly violent or sexual but giving the target audience and the audience in general, enough of both to give it the realism one expect from the situation they are in. @LemonDancer I agree. There are a lot of good TV series out there, but none quite like Avatar. It's unique and groundbreaking in its own ways. I think one of the things I love most about Avatar is that it's such a fantastic story, with profound character development, beautiful animation, and a timeless message, all while remaining CLEAN. It can be enjoyed by all ages. In today's age, that's a real rarity.

You can have an all around well made anime with a brilliantly woven story, but copious amounts of gore. Example: Baccano. Or you can have one that is OKAY for kids at first, but grows much more mature as the story goes on Example: Naruto Shippuden.

@Pevensify I 99% agree, it being clean was one of the problems in my opinion. The only reason Aang did not kill the firelord is because Nickelodeon wouldn't approve it (It's true they were planning on the fire lord dying). It's kinda ridiculous too since kids today are used to seeing more blood and gore through video games, yet the sensitivity for this has gotten a lot stricter. It's still one of the coolest shows though :D

The characters' names were distorted, the rules of bending changed (it took 6 dancing men to levitate one rock), and M Night took out some of the best parts of book 1. First, I see no emotion in ANY of the characters. It looked like they were reading out of script cards. I mean normally I would praise Haley Osment. He normally is a wonderful actor like AI(which I cried too) and Kingdom Hearts(voice acting)
second they don't look like the characters. To me, I consider it racist(they are all asian so why aren't they in the movie? Jackie Chan maybe could have been Zhao)
The only ones I don't imagine being asian is the Water tribe (I imagine them being alittle more akin to native american/south american looking), but yeah the movies were racist towards what the cartoon represented and I'm white.
third, the story is messed up. My friend's little brother watched it(Me and my friend like LOVE show) he said Zuko joined with Aang even though that happens in the LAST SEASON Fourth they mispronounce Aang and Sokka's name S-oh-ka A-ung I mean some people can mistake Sokka's name but Aang is sooo easy to pronounce Horrible movie my mom and I(she is a big fan too :) watched it for 10 minutes and then , we hated it right away I heard never judge a book from it's cover. u should for this movie..
