Gundam 00 Movie Review - A wakening of the Trailblazer

Just rewatched the movie. It really does suck, I mean they left us at a cliffhanger, if its gonna be like that, not much reason to watch, I mean show what all the important characters did, like it creates too many rumors, what happen with Saji and Lousie, and Lock-On, even Allelujah and Soma Pieres! Even what happen to Setsuna! And Tieria! Did Setsuna find a way back to Earth, did he marry the princess, or Feldt (its just that she has been showing feelings) and Did Tieria, get married, get a new

GOODS: Good fights, well made graphics

OKS: Story (not including ending) enemies, and ending 00 small cliffhanger

BADS: Ending ( cliffhanger! ), Setuna didn't fight, no dramatic final fight with 00 Quant, No telling what happen to the other character's futures

Thats my review guess it was ok, worth watching

The movie was good untill the last 5 minutes where the writers wrote themselves into a corner and pull a huge Dues Ex Machina. I mean the ending is so abrupt that it's like the Flash tripping at full speed, it hits you that fast and guarenteed to make you say "What the f***?". They could have done SO much better with this movie. They could have had Setuna's feelings about war and battle conflict whith his need to protect people and have him ACTUALLY FIGHT.

The reason I loved the movie is because it answered the main question you had from the first season. What is the comming dialogue? It all fits according to what Aeolia Schrensomething predicted. Yea it wouldve been better to see an all out fight at the end but if u still want that watch the end of seasons 1 & 2 again. Its also great to watch it in HD

Gundam should be story about Gundam not some peace and boring politics. It different sure but this movie its like telling Lebron James not to dunk during the game. It could been alot better but the they finish the story with boring layup. BTW if iwere the guy making this movie i would aleast make one boss fight or somethin jazz up litte bit. I like it but ending eh...they shouldve dunk it really hard.

Ill give the movie a meh. Action awesome as always, the plot was sub-par but the philosophy that most gundam shows display is pretty good. I cant complain since it wasnt terrible but the plot could have been a lot better. and I agree the epilogue should have been a bit more fleshed out.

I completely agree with you. The ending made very little sense. Based on the people they already assimilated, wouldn't they know that they were killing humans? Unless they didn't gain any information from the assimilation, which means that they kept on doing something that did not work....

The action was very very good though.

Gundam Series has always been about conflict between mankind, political, relgious, military beliefs and struggle And how through battle/killng it was dealt with.

These days its same old reiteration just with new characters and mecha design.

At least with this move albeit its flaws the producers tried to expand beyond the norm. Give them props for that.

Ending was totally predictable....but i wish theyd made it a bit more informative.(we never go to see what happens to the rest of the main cast)...i thought the the whole thought projection into a flower was a bit Literal. Wish theyd put more thought into that. Setsuna wen off far off into the universe to make proper first contact. (may leave room for a spin off movie). Trailblazer end gundam? Overall movie was good but its evident that the directors were lazy when trying to develop the plot.

rrobbert184. you probably spoke the mind of many fans, including myself. In short, we were jipped by the ending. Quite lazy directors to be honest. To make an ending like that is easy. We would expect a spectacular ending, but even Quanta did **** fighting at all. I really expected something more.

@firzennet It had enough action scenes to me. They showed everything 00 QanT could do. The only thing they probably could have added are a few scene of QanT slashing ELS mobile suits with it's sword and fangs. I think does sword bits are super fast. I gad to do frame by frame just to see what happened to them. All I saw was green light flashes all over the place. They might made an Special Edition in the Future. They usually do for popular Gundam anime.

BTW, I liked the movie within movie "Celestial Being" at the beginning. Overreacting captains saying obvious stuff, asteroid base looking too much like Axis from UC, a MS that throws boomerang like Gurenn-Lagann, a dog with a serious expression in space suit sitting next to Katharon captain (LOL), Alejandro Corner leading A-Laws (haha), Meisters with super robot look, Gundams flying with arms stretched, Saji who points out how unrealistic the movie is and how he is not portrayed in the movie.

@mingzl81065 Let's see if I can clear it up. A Wakening of the Trailblazer = Setsuna's Awakening. You know, with the "trail" that the Qan[t] seeming "blazed" to the center of the ELS? It could also refers to the GN particles that are connecting the big yellow petals and the Earth. That is the reason for the title. BTW The flower is significant because it's the thing Feldt gave Setsuna. The flower is the embodiment of the understanding of each other and the awakening of the trailblazer (Setsuna)

I liked the movie above all. It was an unusual Gundam movie since it deal with aliens, but the mystery of ELS and action scenes were very entertaining. And the conflict within humanity described in tv series was all Aeolia's preparation for what happened in the movie. The final ending was very unusual for a Gundam movie, but I thought it was OK.

lol i saw the movie in singapore and when they showed the ending i was like "WTF?" and was very disappointed however after that i started thinking about the movie and it was actually quite good, you need some thinking to actually appreciate the whole movie.

To be expected I guess but I'll still want to see for the action/visuals alone.

The only truly perfect Gundam movie ending would have to the end last of the original 0079 film trilogy. It has a fencing match in space and that one bazooka headshot as well as that feeling of the world's conflict dwarfing the characters.

Still, more models to come!

There is no doubt that reason why this movie was made was just to sell gunpla and other related merchantise. As old school fan of Gundam I think that whole having aliens as enemies was stupid move. Its supposed to be Gundam, not Macross.

Someone needs to ban Seiji Mizushima from making movies, he doesn't know how to make movies. Instead of creating a brand new threat that doesn't have anything to do with what the main conflict of the previous series is you need to add to the series. Endless Waltz explanation of Operation Meteor and tying the Barton Foundation to it, and the end of the Char vs Amuro conflict are perfect examples. They tied into the series, and made for a strong narrative. This is a cash in pland and simple.
