Wow, I've been a fan of the Smashing Pumpkins for so long and I never knew Billy could solo like this, it's amazing how you can listen to so much Pumpkins and still find new stuff, definitely my favourite band!
@williampatrickcorgan That's a uneducated assumption that makes you seem like an elitist Pumpkins fan. Also, that comment was when I was just starting to listen to their lesser known work.
@dvon21 you actually said: 'I've been a fan of the Smashing Pumpkins for so long and I never knew Billy could solo like this' - which implies you hadn't just started listening to SP
billy can solo so well its untrue, but he doesn't get the credit he deserves! he is the only rocker from the 90s that actually had talent and did something unique
Hey Jerry Cantrell had a hole hell of a lot of talent too! But yes Billy is a god in his own right, and I love how he plays the guitar that Iommi gave him... SG are the best.
Remarkable, a terrific interpretation of a classic but underrated/underappreciated song. Who knew Billy and Bun E. could play this? Cool to hear how someone else phrases the vocals, and a guitar used in place of a violin for the ending solo (watch a Roxy Music rendition to see what I mean). Thanks for posting!
Corgan looks cheery and healthy here, he has become awfuly skinny. Must have wanted to look good in that new skirt or "gaultier" of his. good god it looked ridiculous.
This is a pretty kicking cover. Dan you should post some Bob Sirott bloopers. That would definitely be "One More Thing" You Tubers should know. Still over on St. Louis?

Absolute kick butt version of Roxy Music's absolute best tune. Billy wails this piece. Band is super tight. Really cool.
It would have been fun to see the original SP cover it. D'arcy would have had to put in some practice time.

@samickjz2 Yeah, and he does a decent homage to Eddie Jobson's iconic electric violin solo at the end.

Correction, it's not a 'gaultier', I haven't the foggiest what in the whale's tail it is. I'm sorry, I'm sorry for being painfully annoying!

Has Tommy Iommi given him a guitar?
mrmarks65 3 years ago
Iommi gave it to him for helping with Black Oblivion off his solo album.
