Yes, it's a falcon board. I really have to admit it's not even half that loud now any more because all my games run from HDD. Well... In this case, it's the hitache DVD-drive that causes most of the noise.

Actually... It's mostly the DVD-drive. Now, since NXE and a bigger hdd, I can install games to the disk and it makes the box way more silent.

Indeed. But most of them go to the dvd device from hitachi. Say, 40 dB(a) is the background-noise, rest goes to xbox 360.
Waiting for the update in november when you'll become able to save entire games at your hdd, so dvd device with remain silent...
