Actually I think it's the 'Give Up' function those guys at Windows made just in case the game gets impossible~ If I'd make a game like that then, I'd simply make it so that player has a game over(the bad kind)

In minesweeper~ It's called a 'devtest'... This is for developers to see how the mine randomizer performs and well to aid themselves into solving their own game... They wanted Minesweeper to be possible... Through practice, you could test your luck without the 'devtest'
