I prefer audio technica in this vid but i personally use Shure and bose wouldnt do it for me. they dont feel right when i put them on and certainly a bit overpriced. This is just my opinion :)
this is bull shit. im not a troll. but your being unfair. your giving a fashion designer perspective. i dont buy earphones cuz they have some gay plastic trim. i buy earphones because they are good EARPHONES. thats it.

@lukgaroo lol for the same price and even wayy less many headphones sound better than bose i don't see whats wrong with spending less for a better product, read more before you insult other people, don't make yourself look funny hehe :p
@evilmax116 Riiiight! "make myself look funny"! lmao! and here u are making yourself look cheap and broke! lol! Sure, i do agree, there are cheaper sets that are bang for the buck as well, i've had a few as well! but if one can afford premium, why not? my insults go to those who dis such brands, not Bose per se, just because they cant afford them! As i've said before, We all have our own preferences and tastes, so whatever floats your boat! No pun intended, just my 2cents worth! Peace!
The ANC7 are way more akin to the QC 15's, but even those are notably smaller than the ANC7. Sleeker anyway. I have ANC7b and they are simply TOO big for portability. They look a bit goofy.
Sound quality is nice, but noise cancellation on the Bose is unquestionably better.
ANC7 can work without power, but they sound terrible without it, so mostly a useless feature unless you are in a real power jam.
weighing style and portability as heavily as sound quality is absolutely retarded... we're shopping for headphones here, not handbags.
no offense to Brian Tong or the review format, just might want to reassess your weighting. the AT's are clearly the winner here for both quality and value.
CNET Really? I have Bose and I prefer Bose over anything but this is a pretty unfair competition, first of all these are ridiculous categories, sound and noise cancellation is what matters the most in this case. Secondly if you were going ahead with these categories why not compare the QC15 with the Audio-technica ATH-ANC7? That would be fair!
No offence but you are in the wrong place, should be comparing styles in fashion...
Why didn't they just compare the Quiet comfort 15's and the AudioTechnica's?? I have a feeling Bose payed them to do this comparison. Are we forgetting that money talks?
Owned QC3s for about a year and a half - use them every day at work. No material problems, excellent sound (does tend to be bass heavy out of the box - but geez peoples, use an EQ for pete's sake) - you can feel the quality (while it may be overpriced) and they are EXTREMELY comfortable - even after 6+ hours of continuous use.
I personally got the ATH ANC7 and love them. Superb build quality (very surdy, and can take a beating), very solid sound (not huge base, but that ok with me, since i get a head ache from intensive base). And i found them for 120 CDN$, which is much nicer than the 330ish for the QC3!
I think the audio technica should have won because their headphones their not supposed to be portable or very good looking. If i wanted them to be portable i would of got earbuds. the only things that should matter is how comfortable, sound quality and build quality.
Bose is crap no matter what they make, their headphones suck, their speakers sound decent, their subwoofers are crap and sound boomy, and they are overpriced
dude i hate bose home audio as much as you do (i mean who would pay $4000 for a few trebelly cubes?), but i have to say, they do a fantastic, although expensive, job at their headphones.
Bose is shittttttt. I bought one during X'mas, and now it is broken, bad quality, bad desigen, you cannot chew gum while listening to music coz it's conjonctures will make squeeky noise, fking piece of crap.
"the bose quietcomforts have 'comfort' in their name for a reason". thanks brian. that's about has helpful as saying "the audio-technica has audio its name for a reason: it makes sound." what an idiot. my favorite parts are from 2:10 to 2:15 where he tries to demonstrate the "qualities" of each headphone with an interpretive head dance.
i can't wait to hear this guy's review of dr. dre's beats. "it's by dr. dre, has a lot of bass, and is shiny! 10 out of 10!!!"
The categories for comparison are: comfort, style, portability, sound, and price. Come on cnet, you've got to be kidding me.
What matters more than anything is SOUND QUALITY. Comfort (and to a lesser extent, price) I can understand, but portability and style?? Give me a fucking break.
...and Bose?? When a company won't even release the technical specs for their headphones, it should raise some serious doubt in any knowledgeable consumer. BOSE IS HYPE. Don't buy into it.
@AIFRANCHISE1 no haha , it will tell you what the driver can do , but it says nothing about the enclosure and how it will react with that particular driver, all the "specs" say are it is this kind of speaker driver, that can handle this much power , and do this frequency range under ideal conditions. the specs say nothing about enclosure design , or the electronics that are running the show.
I only care about the last two rounds, basically, it sounds better, and cost less than boss....I prefer headphones that cover your ears, don't give a sh** about style, am mostly concern with the sound quality, plus the noise canceling is better than bose.......
Bose is absolutely idiotic. Not only is their sound ridiculously unnatural, but they cost more than a pair of Grado lower end to even middle class headphones. I paid $100 for my pair of Audio-Technica ATH-A700, and a mere $70 for my Grado SR-60 headphones, both of which annihilate Bose in every catergory of SQ. It astounds me that people don't do their homework before investing a lot of money in such a poor headphone as Bose. Bose marketing=EPIC WIN. Bose SQ=EPIC FAIL.
Audio-Technica is known for its sound..used by Justin Timberlake, Metallica, Kiss, Skid Row, Puddle of Mudd, Killswitch Engage. Who cares about how you look in public, grow some balls and standout and stop being so self conscious.
Hey are the ANC7 good for ipod? cuz I was just looking at the specs, and I found that the impedance is 260 ohms. that's way too high compared to other portable headphones for ipods.
My parents got me the Audio Technicas and I'm really excited to see how they work. My parents would never spend 300 bux on headphones. they got the AT's for like 88 bucks on amazon. pretty kickass deal.
Bose is overhyped. ohh, can you recommend me a good any inear or headphones that has a good price as well as exellent quality? ive been thinking about the jay-qjays ones. But sadly they have no retailers here in the Philippines.
Well depends what price class. I'd get sennheiser either ways. They have both cheap and expensive. Get the PXC 450 they're a LOT better than the bose.
IF you can afford around 300$ get some ultrasone think they're called HDI 2200 or something. They're good for mp3. But any of the sennheiser will get you the best sound for the money. Find something you can afford, look at how much power, dB and good frequency they have and find the best fo u. PXC 300 is GREAT for their sound. Save and get them. Don't think they're so much above 100$
Hey, my sister own a pair of Sennheiser CX 300. They're pretty cool and down right simplistic with the design.
The best part is the excellent sound for the price. These pair of Sennheisers sounded better than my JVC-Victor HP-FX77 which costs twice than the Senns. Both were in ear designs by the way.
I got the Audio Technica ATH ANC7 and i absolutely love them. They sound excellent, comfortable to wear, nice price. They cover the whole ear for better noise cancelling (reason for size)
i am sorry but 350 is a lot of money to spend on a pair of headphones. just because a product has the words bose printed on the box doesn't mean it's automatically the winner. bose is only the primier audio brand in large retailers, if you really want nice sound go for companies such as kef, sunfire, and b&w.
To be honest I haven't heard of any of those companies you have suggested. LOL No one reviews them either. I know companies like Shure, Sennheiser and Bose. I doubt that any of your companies you suggested can compete with any of them. But I could be wrong, just not very likely.
bowen and wilkins have been around for years and are probably the best company for sound quality (check the b&w zepelin ipod dock) they also make the sound system for the jaguar xf and sunfire wasnt a good example as they are more for studio monitors not home speakers
are you kidding?! bose is the best, and is worth the money...dont listen to the prizefights, i mean come on, the iPhone lost to the Voyager, i'm not bagging on the voyager its just that the iphone is so much better
You know, for a 2 megapixel, the iPhone's camera delivers REALLY crisp pictures. The lack of video recording annoys me, but otherwise, with GSM to boot, iPhone is a clear winner over voyager.
should hav an updated comparison bwt QC 15 and ATH-ANC7B

You know, for a 2 megapixel, the iPhone's camera delivers REALLY crisp pictures. The lack of video recording annoys me, but otherwise, with GSM to boot, iPhone is a clear winner over voyager.

You're pretty got damn ignorant. Really. The iPhone is just like bose, hyped. Do some research instead of watching commercials, dickhead.
