Another beautiful song in a similar genre by a similarly underappreciated singer is Lazy Afternoon by Jackie Allen. I can wholeheartedly recommend it.
I first heard this listening online to a jazz station from the west coast. I had to stop what I was doing because it stopped me cold. Haunting, touching, exhilarating...just phenomenal.
