  • James Brown was one of the baddest dudes on earth, I saw him in the 60's when I was 8. He was playing for Robert Kennedys speech DC, before he got killed.. what can you say about the Beatles-They Played for 8 years, Look at what they accomplished. but go back and watch some films of James Brown Dance, The God Father Of Soul. Where Do you think Michael Jackson got them moves, thats where he got that Doctor too......................

  • Hey The097 you can't say any thing is better than the Beatles or James Brown, those two names should never be mentioned in a sentence like you wrote. Everyone has there own style and Artistic abilities, Except it like art and say, you like this Version better than the Beatles and James Brown's version. But to say this Version of the Byrds is better is only your opinion.

  • Love this band!

  • I like this version, but still prefer Chers version.

  • Excellent,,RWB

  • Great - this must have slipped the net - I still prefer Dylan's version, but this has real spirit.

  • Still a fantastic song 46 years on, I wasn't even born when this was made..... I love it and everything the 1960s stood for. Not even in my mid 20s and can't stand modern pop!

  • Dylan's song writing is undoubtably some of the finest, but the covers such as this make the tune

  • this is so much better than james brown or the beatles. i bet satellite radio never plays this on 60s radio. satellite radio sucks!

  • @The096757 No need to bash The Beatles, they were a huge influence on The Bryds as well as friends.

  • @fmarine1 the surfaris did an ok version of this song with the drums up front like wipeout

  • I love bob dylan, but the byrds really made a magical version of this song!

  • Thumbs up if you're listening to this in 1976!

  • Love this version.

  • la única persona a la cual no le gusta éste tema puede morirse ya mismo!

  • This song is short and sweet. It leaves you longing to hear more so you just have to play it again!

  • They rewrote the music to the third verse, creating a bridge where there was none originally. I think it's beautiful.

  • One of my favorite Dylan covers. Roger and company do alter the lyrics a bit but this a wonderful song. I was only an infant when this was originally released but got hooked on the Byrds in my late teens and even moreso in college.

  • i like to flip that 9 and call myself a 60s baby.

  • in the '60's this song was perfect...until I met my hottie wife of 40 years...girl when I was on my own..chasing you girl!

  • I'm normally not a big fan of covers that deviate a lot from the original but this one's actually really cool

  • I couldn't find an original Dylan version.

  • @frostellie The Dylan version was released on Another Side of Bob Dylan and Bob Dylan's Greatest Hits, Volume II.

  • Wow... was "Maryanne with the Shaky Hand" a spoof of this?

  • I know it's a matter of taste but I do prefer this Bob Dylan cover by the Byrds than Mr Tambourine Man!

  • @lyonslaforet True. Mr. McGuinn only used two verses of Mr. Tambourine man.

  • wonderful song

  • My fave song right now. :)

  • oh class ..dosent get better than this ..

  • ~ Heard this by a local band tonight...couldn't help thinkin' of YouTube! Lol!

  • what a really great dylan cover. seems like dylan wrote great songs and bands like the byrds and the turtles and johnny winter among a slew of great people would turn them into hits.

  • I love Dylan but truth be told he has a pretty lousy musical ear - I think I can only truly appreciate some of his songs when they're covered by artists like The Byrds

  • Excellent old song,,RWB

  • Great Harmony and that McGuinn Jingle jangle 12 string Rickenbacker guitar make this a hit! Real 60's sound.

  • @pbrucpaul the surfaris did a good version of this with the drums up front like wipeout

  • awsome song

  • great song and great group

  • precious precious preciousssss

  • SAYS IT ALL!!

  • the byrds sing dylan songs better than dylan

  • The truth is... Peter, Paul and Mary - and then the Byrds - did more to popularize Dylan's songs than Dylan did. And they did it before anyone outside of Greenwich Village had heard of Dylan

  • AMEN!

  • Fantastic cover, respects the original but still puts their own spin on it.

  • AWESOME....THANK YOU!!!! love this song....peace and lovee<33

  • cool song pal 5/5!!!!

  • Great Song
