No, its not perfect, sometimes the majority doesn't win. But that keeps presidents from catering too and favoring popular opinions. It gives minorities a vote. It also keeps states representing the WHOLE STATE and not the biggest city. Presidents would come from Cities only. And States would merge votes to overcome other states, so only Cali or New York would win.
