this is the real fleetwood mac and mystery to me is their greatest album...saw 'em live touring this record...welch totally went off on bermuda triangle.
@SuperStuey2 An intelligent man! most of men prefere "madonna's", "lady gaga" etc etc...I'm a woman and I don't understand men for their taste sometimes! My boyfriend is also crazy about Christine mcvie (it's from his generation, he's older than me, I'm from 72, he's from '58...)!!!
(cont) for me are this title track here and 'She's Changing Me'. These two songs take away from the feel and dark atmosphere of the rest of the album IMO.As they are too lightweight and "happy" sounding.( I also just don't think very good.).
Heroes Are Hard To Find is one of my favorite FM albums. Most of the album has a dark, ominous, somber and even eerie tone at times. It's also one of the "weirder more progressive " albums in their catalog. Much of this is due to Bob Welch's "mystical" influence.Sadly many people aren't acquainted with this album as they're far more familiar with the Nicks/Buckingham version of FM. I'm sure some are not even aware there was an FM before those two came along. For me the only songs that don't work
I like the Nicks-Buckingham era songs, but they didn't break much new ground, musically speaking. The Bob Welch era stuff, on the other hand, had some clever use of lyrics, use of horns, and for two albums in that era they had the brilliant guitar combo of Welch and Weston, but not on this album.
everyone her has varried opoinions of theyre fave mc stuff... I like bare trees, hypnotized, Green monalishi , which judas priest covered later, black magic woman, becomes a santana hit on abraxis. i think even a few songs on the roumers album were good along hold me and everwhere from tango in the night were great songs.
In retrospect, I hated all that psychedelic Bob Welch crap. But when Christine was singing, THAT is when Fleetwood Mac began. I hate the way that everything that came before Stevie and Lindsey has been forgotten.
Great song but I would like to see the band not the album cover.

One in a select few of Fleetwood Mac's absolute best left mostly undiscovered. Go Cristi...

The thing I love about Fleetwood Mac is that over time they were about seventeen different bands - and everybody's got their favourite era.

One of the GREAT undiscovered Fleetwood Mac songs, criminally ignored should have been a massive hit...brilliant

I wonder why this wasn't a huge hit.

@pinz2022 Ever heard of Peter Green, Jeremy Spencer or Danny Kirwan? My goodness. You are ignorant.

The horns give this song a soul feel. I can almost imagine Aretha doing this one.

I'm playing Heroes songs. Glad you put this one up here for me. This was a very underrated album, the last before the Buckingham/Nicks takeover.
