  • theres a nice article about Edhi in the LA times today

  • Biggest shame that Edhi has been snubbed by the Noble committee many times. He provides shelter to orphans, women, and the old. He provides free ambulance service, soup kitchens, schools, medical centers and scores of other facilities. They gave Noble to Obama. Seriously? That mass murderer?

  • Oh! This is news to me Mr. Imran Khan!!! So, Pakistan is a moderate peaceful country with no religious extremism? Why did ISI then train and create such an extremist group such as Taliban? Called them freedom fighters as long as they did not attack your soil. The day they returned to their homeland Pakistan, they are branded terrorists and isolated as non-Pakistani!!! Amazing logic. So peaceful that Hafiz Saeed publicly calls for Jihad against India. Imran Khan Ji??? You lost your credibility.

  • @pogularocky Shut up you Indian.

  • @jahaaz1

That is all you have to say? Sad! The problem with Pakistan is its immense sense of "Denial" ... You need to acknowledge the problem before you can solve it. You are stuck at that first phase itself... An American kills 3 Pakistanis and see how he will leave the country with immunity and zero justice. All thanks to your corrupt, yet powerful, military establishment.

  • People like Edhi and Imran Khan should be making decisions for Pakistan, not the crooks that are in Parliament..

  • inshallah i will come make it better i will inshallah

  • edhi is just doing his work on his own place like everyone should do. rights of ALLAH can be forgiven by HIM if v apologize but rights of people will not be forgiven unless those people forgive us. so v should do good to people to seek ALLAH's forgiveness.

i want to join Edhi's team , any guidance will highly be appreciated.

  • Shame on you malik, and menec4.. this woman is a successful educated woman who is showing the real Pakistan, you lowlife insecure men, who cannot accept woman to be out and show the real role of woman in Pakistan. Shame on you both again.

  • thank god there is someone who thinks like me

  • Perhaps he could have said it nicely but he's got a point. The woman should have done more research about Edhi. He did not start Edhi foundation because he was disappointed in Pakistan but because his mother was suffering paralysis and a mental illness. She passed away and he started thinking of those who were suffering like them.

I got this info from Edhi foundation's website.

  • what an ignorant lady she is hate watchin her on British Media Representing as british pakistani lowlife

  • she is a discrace to pakistanis

  • y is she disgrace to pakistan. do u have the answer.reply plz.

  • kutay bukwas na kar

  • thats good

  • the guy has done more in the last 2 decades than all the presidents or priministers of pakistan combined in the 60 years of this country's history. He should be given a noble prize...

  • he should be the president of pakistan

  • Everyone in Pakistan loves Edhi. It just goes to show that theres something wrong with you not the 170 million Pakistanis who love Edhi.

  • I salute edhi. I agreed he doesn't need a nobel prise. Nobel price is very small thing in front of edhi. He is the one great person.

No one give him as much attention as they are giving to molvi of lal musjid what he did. what taliban did nothing. I respect edhi

  • look molvi lal had different kind of task, then edhi, both should be complimented and united. not pitch against each other, until we do that we will never have unity and we will be like scattered rats fighting for little fame. look at the infidels, europe is coming togather and we are disuniting.

  • wats wrong with fundamnetalist islam?

  • every thing!! Islam is a religion of peace, it teaches Forgiveness, people should read Quran in a language that they Understand it in!!! Today people have distorted a beautiful religion i believe in!!

  • fundamentalist islam means, islam that belives in the basics and stays to its roots, that is what i belive..its a concept the west hates coz of its hatred with christianity (which they always deny)...remember, extremism, hypocrisy and bidha and fundamnetalism are allvery different...

  • I salute u Mr. Edhi. and Saira has done a tremendous job.

  • Edhi is a great hero and he doesnt need any nobel prize for what he's doing but i am disgusted by the language by this lady saira khan, for good or bad, Pakistan is our country and we love it no matter what......

  • muslims r killing muslims

    non muslims r killing muslims

    muslims r killing non muslims

    PRAY 4 PEACE N GOOD .

THANK YOU GOD AND THANK YOU EDHI 4 PEACE

  • u mean everyone is killin eveyrone

  • Obviously he is deserving for a nobel prize but west has double standards...if such a work would have been done by a non muslim individual he would have been decorated much earlier.

God will bless him and there would be definitly be a great place for him in the heavan

  • Your religious focus is irrelevant. The Nobel committee recognizes individual achievements after peer preview. Such is the case for following Nobel laureates who have excelled at being good human beings. Should they / others attach significance to their Muslim identity, does not add or detract from the merit of their work.

    Muhammad Yunus, Peace Prize 2006.

    Abdul Sattar, Physics 1979.

    Naguib Mahfouz, Literature 1988.

    Orhan Pamuk, Literature 2006.

    Shirin Ebadi, Peace Prize 2003.

    Rethink.

  • I agree but i think people like Edhi are never hungry for a noble prize which is judged by humans. He might be looking for the reward from the Creator. So his case is different and probably he would also be not focusing on the criteria set by nobel prize committee

  • Recognition of Edhi's work by Nobel, would highlight the nature of his work and inspire others across South Asia and Africa to take up his example. Whenever an award has been given to a South Asian citizen, it has inspired the distracted subcontinent to do better. Muhammad Yunus's example of developing Akhtar Hameed Khan's original concept of micro-credit loans, has changed countless lives in Bangladesh, India and Pakistan. Governments of these countries need to recognize Edhi and his work too.

  • Also every thing on one side...acheiving this success and working firmly with the same passion for years after years in our country with great social, political and economic ups and downs deserve more than a noble prize...

and may I correct you telectroscope...this 1979 nobel prize was for Dr Abdus Salam in Physics...

  • Dear Lovepaf: Thank you for the correction. Much appreciate it.

  • My pleasure...

  • and the knighted rusdie!?

  • You r talking like he is the only man in this world doing such humanitarian works, there r many people and one nobel prize, so dont be so narrow minded!

    May god bless him.

  • That there are others doing humanitarian work, is no reason to overlook Edhi's work. The Nobel Peace Prize highlights the nature of a person's work. Multiplies it by a huge magnitude. Brings it to the attention of those who can assist. It happened with Mother Teresa's Sisters of Charity. Why not Edhi? In South Asia, health services are appalling. An award to Edhi, and he surely is deserving, would shame the Pakistani and Indian governments. Shame is a very potent force in South Asia.

  • Moreover, Pakistan needs a new role model. To strengthen the voice of the civil society in Pakistan is a necessary imperative. Why not Edhi? He is an example of positive and healthy response to a social issue. A good citizen. a good samaritan, a good Pakistani, a good Muslim and above all, a good human being. Why not Edhi? He gives a lie to the negative and fundamentalist mindsets. That last reason alone should suffice. I hope you concur.

  • A great story about a great person

  • Mr. Edhi's work has createe a support system which should be a model for all South Asia. It shows what a concerned South Asian is capable of. This is an example the state should replicate all over the subcontinent. The Nobel Peace Prize committee will overlook Mr.Edhi's work just as it did Mohandas Gandhi's work when he was alive. Work such as this deserves recognition and highlighting. Consider what the Nobel's recognition has done for Muhammad Yunus' concept of microcredit loans via Grameen.

  • EDHI THE LIVING ANGEL IN PAKISTAN

  • Edhi is truly eligible for Nobel Prize, although people like him dont want any appreciation like this and evennever bother
