  • wow, thanks mom, shows how much you believe in me

  • this is just culture calm down. in the west people tan themselves. such is life.

  • @gjuboy1122 PATHETIC --- IN THE WEST --THE PEOPLE ARE NOT TANNING BECAUSE THEY FEEL THEIR FAIR SKIN MAKES THEM INFERIOR! PEOPLE DON'T REFUSE TO MARRY A WOMAN WITHOUT A TAN! SAD! SICK! TWISTED!

  • Oh I see now, Tony Greig has used Fair & Lovely...:P

  • Since when have we been able to see the commentator's face during a match? And since when have sports commentators been signing autographs?

  • LOOOOOL...so being fair gets you a job as a cricket commentator too now? and it also make everyone your fan...cause poeple REALLY watch the cricket to see the commentator's face don't they...LOL!

  • How sick!!!

  • omg, her mother puts bleaching cream in her hand? That's fucked up. Fair is skin is not the definition of beautiful, why don't they just have commercials of women loving themselves instead of hating how they are naturally?

  • @AliEsteem because they are a company and at the end of the day they want profit-the creams probably don't work and even if they did it won't make someone ugly suddenly beautiful--it's just a marketing technique. (not a personal attack). Most of these ads for bleaching creams are extremely racist, misogynistic and shallow. :S

IMO opinion most people look best in their natural skin colour, but people should be allowed to try whatever look they like e.g. pale, bronzed, dark, goth, whatever.

  • this ad is dumb because just because you look good (I'm not talking about skin color) doesn't mean that you'll have many fans. I mean all she does is comment which might be a profession...but that doesn't mean that you'll be famous...idk.. i don't think this is possible in real life. Just a thought.

  • She's a commentator, why does she need fair skin!? I'll be sending a tube to Tony Greig then.

  • rttytfyrtyry 657

  • at 0:26 i swear that guy looks my indian uncle!

  • Racist pricks

  • fair and really really stupid

  • LOL its funny how white people want to be tan and indians want to be white.

  • lost respect for this actress after seeing that she endorses this brand

  • @madhu0124 its all about money :(

  • i wish folks would learn to accept them selves and be content in their skins.. its sad.. its adds like this that make confident less young women and arrogant ignorant other women.. why have pride over something you had no control over?? its gods gift.. accept it...

  • as a white person i can also say these ads are absolutely insane!!! who cares we should all be proud of the way we naturally areeee

  • @issareign LMAOOO you're an ass. thank you for taking your time to passionately comment about dark skinned people. please keep the rest of your AESTHETICALLY BEAUTIFUL white people away from tanning beds kay? you're a waste of space...your mom should swallowed ;) thank you for your time to share you intellectual comment you b***h <3 btw you sound mad ugly...that personality is nastier than a diseased blue waffle.

  • @datqurlx3 I would NEVER tan, I turn red. Plus, its very unhealthy. BTW, i'm quite handsome thank you very much.

  • @issareign lmfao im surprised to hear that you called yourself handsome. i honestly thought you were a girl, you sounded so much like one. oh and thank you SOOOOO much for telling me how handsome you are. you just fulfilled my life's purpose. thanks, bye.

  • @datqurlx3 u are so right

    lol

  • @issareign u are an ignorant, uneducated, asshole.Oneday when u grow up, u will eventually accept the truth.

why are idiots like u even born? lmao

  • no amount of cream will mask that foul odor you ALL emit from your houses, those nasty voices, EFFETE AND FEEBLE brains, god damned sub humans.

  • hahha ugly fucking curry munching faggots. you people are rodents, nothing more. stupid, dirty, worthless, and ugly. remedy? NUKE NUKE NUKE. fucking sub human filth.

  • @issareign oh stop. If you were truly as beautiful as you say, you wouldn't be spending so much time on youtube making pathetic, hate-filled comments- you'd be modelling, touring the world and having flings with exotic partners every night. You've already painted us a picture of your sad, meaningless existence- no need to overdo it.

  • Tanning is actually good for you... you get vitamin D from sun light, not to mention, you try to stay fit to wear bikinis / shorts at the beach. Whiteness creams are just pure bullshit.

  • @TheAmericanDesi a lot of people get fake tans; people don't tan to get healthy, they do it for sex appeal. people use lightening creams for the same reason.

  • white people trying to get dark(by getting tanned), dark people trying to get white (by wightening creams)..why don't you all shut up and be grateful that you have healthy skin and be convenient with it...-.-

  • @konyabln, yes, but whites who tan are not trying to look like non-white people. Why would anyone white want to give up the status that goes with being white?

  • @sandinyourshoes i use this cream to even out my skin tone, not to look like a white person. whites who tan are trying to look more appealing. the people who use skin lightening cream are doing the same...

  • @katris4040, that is a wonderful reason to use the product. Nevertheless, whatever goal you have in mind is certainly your business and your right to pursue. Unfortunately, there are so many critics who want to turn this commercial into a giant issue of race. That is nonsense. Everyone wants attractive skin. Period. To even out our tones makes perfect sense. I am on your side, and I hope you like your results.

  • Ok, that means Genelia was actually DARK then she applied this cream and became WHITE then got chance in cinemas. I didnt know that.

  • WTF! This commercial is bulshit! If that were true, then dark people would be the dumbest and most pathetic people. And obviously, they are not! Fuck this stupid ad. I myself am Indian, and I fucking hate my people and country for advertising crack-ass shit such as this piece of shit commercial that has the power to put down darker people! FUCK YOU INDIANS WHO MADE THIS SHIT!! I HOPE YOU GET AIDS FROM GETTING RAPED BY A 600 POUND GORILLA

  • @AgainstAllOdds914 LMAO i love you for your comment! deadass indians are f'd up. i've never seen this much self hatred in a race as a whole. just look at bollywood...theyare exponentially getting lighter. even background dancers cant be dark anymore...its all white girls. and indian lick the f'ing posters of katrina kaif because she is white. i seriously laugh at these things now. indians sure know how to make a fool out of themselves. disgrace.

  • @datqurlx3 Sometimes I feel really embarrassed to be Indian, because of the way my people act. But you're right, we do have a lot of self hatred in our race. It's a good thing I don't live in India.

  • @AgainstAllOdds914 yupp even i feel ashamed. even my own family members who grew up outside of US have the indian mentality that their ancestors put in them. it's a vicious cycle. hopefully the newer generations will understand that there's nothing wrong with darker skin.

  • Yeah, the Indian culture is pretty backwards and disgusting for thinking only fair skin is beautiful when there r a bunch of black beauties too, ones which look prettier. but eh, we can't change this, it's just how it works and it's been that way for too long for them to suddenly look back, turn around, think and change. :P

  • yeah, it looks disgusting. There's a diff between being fair and a ghost pale pasty white which is yukk :P Genelia is white enough to start off with. My friends who r a caramel color have been using fair and lovely on their face for like 10 years now and nothing, they still look the same! and no, they aren't using it because they wanna be fairer, but because they're moms do so their moms make em use it.

  • this company should be sued for false advertising...they never use naturally dark girls in their commercials, it's always people who r super fair to begin with but to make it look like the product works, it's a bunch of editing and lights to make them look whiter than they r, whiter than they need to, TOO WHITE!

  • @Shoppingstar525 The absolute worst is the Katrina Kaif one. She says something like "Want to know the secret to my fair skin? It's this cream!" and I'm like, um no, it's the fact that your mom is white!!

  • @gladitsmonday haha, well they r required to say that, none of it is true of course. Fair and Lovely is a complete waste and I get even more pissed off at it cuz of the racist advertising, they really should get sued for false advertising, they make so many dark girls kill themselves with this stupid fair is better theory and waste so much $ on their crap product. :(

  • @gladitsmonday and haha yeah, Kat needs no special cream or scrub to keep her skin that white, it's natural, she was born with it. All the companies which hire her for any whitening involved, they always take her cuz she's already an egg to start off with. For that Olay whitening cream, she said she took the oppurtunity to advertise it cuz Olay's products with their SPF in them keep her skin safe in the sun since she's always out shooting, and I'm just like

  • @gladitsmonday "wtf? the add is about whitening, not that much sun protection and your talking about that!" totally shows the product doesn't work.

but either way, I think Kat is sooooooooooooooooooooo beautiful

  • Oh man, in my country it is shame to have light skin while darker skin is more desirable.

  • Comment removed

  • yeah, this is gross. but statistically speaking, the lighter you are in the united states (even the lighter shade of black you are) the more money you make. we need to change entire cultures, not just bash on people who like fair&lovely.

  • genelia sema cute

  • thalaivii genelia cute

  • It is not her accent. She has a big Indian accent while speaking English but she is extremely gorgeous.

  • I'm extremely pale and I'm just after applying self tanner.........I'm scrubbing it off and throwing the rest away in the bin...I can't believe how stupid I am, I'm no better than these idiots trying to be something they're not....when will we learn :(

  • @boppy100 Your comment made me smile. I'm all for people doing things that make them feel pretty, but no one should ever feel like they need to change who they are. I'm glad you realized this and I hope many others do. By the way, I'm extremely pale too! :D

  • @boppy100 Right on!!!!!!! :DDD

  • @boppy100 You're not stupid, if someone feels they look better lighter or darker, there's nothing wrong with that. People try to change all the time, for example, most people try to lose weight because it will automatically make them look better, right? Nothing wrong with changing yourself for the better

  • @wawahwario There is when the message is "Light is gorgeous, Dark is ugly ugly ugly. You should be ashamed of yourself for being so dark you'll never get anywhere." "Use our fairness creams :)" That is why it is an issue.

  • @WeissKreuzisuka exactly. there is a deeper issue here than just a cute brand of makeup or something

  • @wawahwario WHITE POWER

  • I'm extremely pale and I'm just after applying self tanner.........im scrubbing it off and throwing the rest away in the bin...I can't believe how stupid I am, I'm no better than these idiots trying to be something they're not....when will we learn :(

  • she dont even look that much different. she was light enough before

  • @Samuel115s yup

  • this commercial sucks totaly!WTF!

  • This video is soooooooooo stupidddddddddddddddd. So you're saying she couldn't have become a sports caster if she wasn't lighter skinned? SO STUPID!!! ARGGHH

  • Indian women are beautiful regardless of being dark or light skinned....

  • u can also find kamilinee mukharjee in this ad

  • SMH, the reasons their commercials give to use their product is absolutely disgraceful! This colorism is disgusting.

  • f u dum indians

  • @turnfootsherlock oh shut up, not everyone is like this....most don't even care about their color considering they have enough brains to figure out they can't change how they look, it's always the parents and such who force them to use such products and bring down their self esteem!

  • o my gosh she couldnt get a job cause she was dark

  • @gyal123 dass bee raysiz n stuff

  • 0:19-0:22 makes me need to piss myself!!!

  • woow I didn't know there was so much self hate in india. I mean the ad blatantly says that the women won't get the career of her dreams..and sometimes the man of her dreams unless she is lightskinned. colonialism is a bitch.

  • f*** these fairness product ads. its a bitter truth dat even today dark girls face difficulty 2 find a match even if they r beautiful!

  • Since when does the hue of skin determine beauty and talent? Shame on the corporate world for propagating such messages to the masses.

  • Lmao, this is ridiculous.

  • @Thatgirlasiaiscool f****** hilarious!!!!

  • she is fair, lovely and also bubbly.. :)

hi genny.!! maintain the same smile.. :) it suits you..

  • ALL RUBBISH NO CREAM CN MAKE A PERSON LUK FAIR.IT ALL DEPENDS ON UR GENES

  • does the dove self esteem fund know about this? because fair and lovely and dove are both owned by the same company.

  • @envey119 whaaat!?!?! fair and lovely and dove are owned by the same company....hmmmm

  • @envey119 im going to stop buying their products

  • @envey119 I know, right? Utter hypocrisy.

  • @envey119 as if they care. they test on animals. they are evil.

  • @envey119

Could you help support my 'Not fair, still lovely' page on facebook. My goal is to broaden people's perception of skin tone in India so that young Indian girls won't suffer through low self esteem and depression because they're constantly told that dark skin is ugly. Please hit 'like' on the page, share it with your facebook friends and post your thoughts/opinions on the matter.

  • @envey119 excellent point!

  • @envey119 right

  • This saddens me...Brittish colonialism has made people feel inferior. The Indian people are beautiful and have a rich culture and should be proud of their heritage. Never let someone else make you feel less-than-yourself.

  • @dealmaker007 British colonialism has nothing to do with this, at least in the case of India. The preference for fair skin there is documented quite well, since times well before the British arrived.

  • @scarybozo Well in any case the discrimination is limiting and still wrong.

  • @dealmaker007 This has nothing to do with colonialism...colour discrimination has been in India for centuries before the British even arrived. This mentality exist in other asian countries as well like Thailand and the Phillipines. Light skin is associated with high class/well off people and dark skin is associated with poor labourers who work in the sun.

  • @mooneepondskid Well in any case the discrimination is limiting and still wrong.

  • I hate these ads and I hate the fucking Fair and Lovely franchise. Ads like this make India look regressive and shallow. Don't get me wrong- I'm Indian, so no racism here. But this obsession with fairness permeates Bollywood as well, you hardly see a darker actress there. It's so fucking annoying.

  • I can't believe she supports this. I dislike her now

  • guys i need help im trying 2 find the fair and lovely ad which involves an artis drawing a woman's face.

  • @anjin16 -- i think thats a ponds ad

  • @3571potter never mind dude i got it and no its not ponds ad - song is khuda janne

  • she still not even pale...

  • wtf, you don't get a higher esteem if you are fairer in india... or america...

  • Dark skin isn't like Acne or some sort of deformity it's who you are! It shows where your roots are, it's your genetics.

You can't just dye skin like you can dye hair! Thats disgusting that someone actually invented this product.

  • I love how the mother cries at the end, as if to say, "I'm so proud of my daughter's newfound whiteness!" Of course the message to all dark little girls is that you can't achieve your dreams until you "become" white. Fucking disgusting. Shame on that culture!

  • @marcphilos Oh really, then why don't the dark skinned girls make a statement? Because I fail to follow your thoughts. If they make an ad for tanning thing everyone would applaud because that does not affect the dark people but when it come to being light nobody has an option.

There are light skinned people who probably some people feel inferior to. They want to make their skin lighter and if it is done without toxic chemicals then why does anyone need to point a finger? It is their skin!

  • @TsakirisAlexandros Well black women here in the states made their statement long ago. We have magazines, books and even a cosmetic line called DARK AND LOVELY. Yes, DARK AND LOVELY. Look it up. See, unlike Indians, we blacks here in the US don't buy into the notion that you have to be white to be beautiful. And no, you can't compare tanning to this nonsense. White people who tan have no intention on becoming another race. Most people who tan do it for leisure anyway.

  • @marcphilos I know what tan is, it is a natural procedure that occurs when sun sees the skin and triggers melanin creation.

Again, if this product uses 100% safe ingredients then I do not see any problem. The same way tanning does not make you another race, the same way skin lightening (or even worse bleaching) will not alter your race.

Have you ever seen a black albino, he is lighter than me but he still looks like an african.

These people want to be lighter Indians probably!

  • @TsakirisAlexandros Have you seen some of the content of these ads? The essential message is that there is nothing wrong with discrimination against people with darker skin. It's the person discriminated against that needs to change, and the only way they can change and become accepted is if they become white. The root of this issue is a deep-seated inferiority complex stemming from British colonialism. I don't see this kind of message promulgated in tanning ads.

  • @marcphilos "See, unlike Indians, we blacks here in the US don't buy into the notion that you have to be white to be beautiful." Yeah, sure, colorism doesn't exist among the black Americans. But how do you explain the prevalence of light-skinned black women in the show industry? Like Rihanna? Or the skin-bleached Beyonce?

  • @scarybozo There is just as much of a prevalence of dark-skinned black women in entertainment. And besides, the entertainment industry (run by white people) isn't really a good gauge of black people's attitudes towards being black. While there may be some pockets of colorism in the community, no other minority group has done more and spent more to bolster their image. We even have a cosmetic line called "Dark and Lovely" for God's sake!

  • @marcphilos Having been to India I can tell you that most indians get upset if you call them black even when they are. They associate the word "black" with africans and see it as an insult.

  • @mooneepondskid Yeah that's the weirdest thing. I am a black man and where I live, it's not uncommon to find Indian immigrants who are at least 3-4 shades darker than I am. And to think they actually have the nerve to "look down" on me. Negro please!

  • @marcphilos im indian and you have no idea how ashamed i am

  • wow. and we thought it was bad in n. america...if a product like this were promoted, there would be major uproar! this is just pure stupidity! even if i was fair skinned, i am so glad i am not a part of that culture. any culture that places value on the fairness of your skin complexion is fucked! in other words, india

  • @vipereyes96 You got that right. Just when I think being black in america is bad, I rejoice in the fact that I do not live in India!

  • man genelia .... looks so cute

  • the song is gorgeous, who is it by?

  • @iolei your mother

  • WTF this is stupid !!

  • Um..she was in a dark house before...

  • i never heard a comentator giving autographs lol

nd geting so famous nd being showed during cricket match on tv scree for so long

    poor add

  • hey people at the west stop bying tanning products, they are just as bad

  • What's really fucked up is that the company that owns Dove, and the true beauty campaign, own this company and one other lightening product. So much for loving who you are, Unilever.

  • indian fairness cream commercials are probably the biggest insult to humanity i have ever seen. i officially appologise for being from the country of morons.

  • @shilpa82494 dont blame india, blame the ppl who make these as an the ppl who star in them. they r the reason 4 making us hindustani ppl to whiten r skin

  • @BollywoodHQOnline yeah but if we weren't all so insecure about our skin color to start with then we would never end up in such a pathetic sitch...think about it, who's gonna try to make or sell a product that no one wants?? the first step is getting everyone to understand that this is INDIA; there is no color on earth that doesn't appear here. and they are ALL beautiful.

  • wat is this?! i cant believe genelia wuld so something like this!

  • why would her mother do something like that. terrible lesson to teach a child. absolute bull shit.

  • disturbing.

  • what a shit commercial! LMAO. BIG SHAME

  • I'm white, my girl friend is Chinese. Like most Chinese, black and Asian women, she wants to be paler. I love the gold of her skin, but she doesn't. Sun-tanned Chinese women have a beautiful colour. Dark-skinned people wanting to be lighter is less to do with emulating the race that dominated the world for 300 years, and more to do with plain old snobbery. Field workers get tanned, fair skin is synonymous with (in their eyes, not mine) higher status. Anyway, women are never happy with their look

  • @Jigaboo123456 It's not right to say only women are unhappy with what they have. Men are too.

  • @doritoesPLAY up to a point your comment is true, but the more mature a man gets, the less it bothers him. Women age less well than men.Feminists can rant and bluster all they want, but women all know that looking attractive to men, as gives them power. When that attraction wanes, so does their power. They should do more to make their inner selves attractive.

  • @Jigaboo123456 The maturity thing i agree with. What i don't understand is what do you mean by "women age less well than men"?

  • . She was physically prettier when she was younger, but I love every line that has been put in her face when life has touched her now and then with a none-too gentle hand. They are witness to her character, and the love for others that took her through hard times. The problem is getting a woman to believe that you can love her imperfections, and that she should not fret over them.

  • @doritoesPLAY @doritoesPLAY Well, generally, we seem to get more attractive to women as we age( up to a point!), whilst the opposite is generally true of women.Women are attracted to self-confident, purposeful men who make them feel safe (but NOT complacent) even if they are not conventionally handsome. We men, on the other hand, are a bit more shallow. I think my girl-friend (she's 48) is a beautiful woman, she has the figure of a teenage girl .

  • @Jigaboo123456 True that. Men ARE shallower. Though looks are very important for women too.

  • Such Vanity!!!

  • Ironically, this is from the same company that lectures Americans on "True beauty."

  • @StoogeWatcher I KNOW RIGHT. stupid Dove and their "true beauty". Did u know they actually airbrush their models on they true beauty campaign ads?

    I hate UNILEVER.

  • @doritoesPLAY Not just that. Dove has been caught photoshopping and hiring professional models with no scars or tattoos. I doubt a product like Fair & Lovely would ever be sold in the US because there would be mass protests.

  • @StoogeWatcher Well it's sold in Canada so obviously it's sold in the US too. What makes you think people aren't that shallow in America? The whole damn continent has been ruled by white people. White middle aged men have always been on top.

  • Awww, how nice, the woman can't get a job reporting on sports until she's pretty enough and pretty enough means making her skin a eensy bit lighter.

Apparently the company that makes this product also makes Dove. Guess what I'm not buying ever.

  • @MomOfLV And the same Dove is telling Americans about "true beauty"...while hiring professional models who look 'perfect.'

  • @MomOfLV-- Right on, Sister! That's stickin 'it to The Man.

BTW did you know that Dove has launched aa new soap that makes you look ten years younger? It's in your local store NOW!

Hey, where you goin' ? Come back, I ain't finished yet!

    LOL.

  • as for those people who like this ad, i'm wondering who they were and why...

  • sell what people will buy. and people will buy this because everyone wants to be different to the mainstream - most people in india are dark skinned, so naturally lighter skin will be desirable. duh.

  • lmao i love watching these commercial for fun :)

  • THIS DISAPPOINTS ME SO MUCHHH!!!! I USED TO ADORE HER!! Goodbye love!

  • look up fair and lovely spoof, for all of you who hat fair and lovely and everything it stands for.

  • you know what the sad thing is, dark skinned Indians are hotter than the lighter ones. They are just sooo suppressed to think they are ugly.

  • this...ad...is...so...funny......

  • omg, genelia was in a fair and lovely ad??? : O

  • what pisses me off is that there are so many of those commercials. 1 would have been a joke but those videos shpw the state of the indian society. this alone make don't want to visit india... fuk that

  • If only my skin were lighter I could commentate cricket and be ogled by a dark skinned man with a big moustache...

  • @emzkind77 hahaha i laughed so hard at your comment, especially 'big moustache'. =)

  • @emzkind77, that is usually how it works. The lighter the lady, the darker the man who wants her. It is normal.

  • scary

  • indians have an inferiority complex.. tahts why they get white blondes to dance in their bollywood movies and have white cheerleaders at their cricket games... and thats probably why there has been a spate of sex attacks against light-skinned tourists in India in the last few years... which is a shame really, coz Indians are really good-looking

  • The only thing that looks different about her is her hair, her face still looks the same, and all she has is a little make up on...people are seriously wasting their money if they think that turning your skin 2 shades lighter will make you "beautiful"

  • HOLYSHIT. My respect for Genelia D'Souza has just disappeared.

  • this ad disgusts me so much.....

  • only stupid idiots will waste their skin in this shiaatt... its better to hav tanner skin naturally.. than to put some random shit to make it light.. only chemicals which r not good at all!

  • but still getting darker is a natural thing that happens in the summer with must ppl. and ppl who tan want to look like they do in the summer. but getting lighter than you already are us unatural

    dark and lovely bitches

    blck and lovely

    yellow and lovely

    every color is lovely..

  • Here in America people spend hours in tanning beds to look darker. In India they spend money on creams to make them look lighter...interesting.

  • @UpstandingCitzen So yes we non-negros aka ancient indians who can change their complexion with respect to sun exposure have evolved a lot while our sibling race from Africa: the Negros have tried their best.

So this ad basically says to put on yer best complexion to Indians. It would b racist to stop Indians from controlling their complexion as negros imply.

  • @UpstandingCitzen Instead the study of 53 populations taken from the HapMap and CEPH data revealed that the population groups studied fell into just three genetic groups: NEGROS or "Africans", INDO-EUROPEANS or "Eurasians" (which includes natives of Europe and the Middle East, and Southwest Asians east to present-day Pakistan), and ORIENTALS or "East Asians", which includes natives of Asia, Japan, Southeast Asia, the Americas, and Oceania.

  • @UpstandingCitzen In June 2009, an analysis of genome-wide SNP data from the International HapMap Project (Phase II) and CEPH Human Genome Diversity Panel samples was published.[29] Those samples were taken from 1138 unrelated individuals.[29] Before this analysis, population geneticists expected to find dramatic differences among ethnic groups, with derived alleles shared among such groups but uncommon or nonexistent in other groups.

  • @UpstandingCitzen There are 3 races of modern men now:

    1-Indo-European,

    2-Oriental

    3-Negro

  • @UpstandingCitzen All Indo-Europeans have similar behaviour, feelings, creativity, culture, etc.

If we view the humans in black and white, we can still make out an Indo-European.

  • @UpstandingCitzen Eyes: Black, Brown, Grey, Blue, Green

  • @UpstandingCitzen Hair: Straight/Curly & Black, Brown, Blonde, Red
