It's set in a world were Vampires and Humans have to co-exist. The Vatican is the strongest human instance and Abel works for it (well, work is not the exact word.. *snickers*... There are loads of tension between the two 'races'. Abel is a Crusnik - a vampire feeding on vampire's blood. This is thus Abel's story... The plotline is really good and you have funny bits too... Well, this is what it is, basically - sorry guys for everything I haven't mentioned.^^

I noticed the Manga showed more of Abel and Esther than the Anime, which is sad. Too many people love Ion. But They haven't seen the Manga. The Anime people didn't include Abel hurting Esther and him being tramatized when he reailized what he did. Then Esther holding his hand. Etc. . .

Abel dies. Cain survives.. This anime is base on Cain and Abel the 2 sons of Adam and Eve. Cain has a grudge on Abel thus leading to Cain killing Abel. Does that answer your question?
