gj dude :) I m learning XNA thus far i got only to the 2d workd so no shadows needed " yet " :D Creating fully working game with bject manager then ill move on to other more advanced stuff ! :) Mind adding me on some IM ?
Then i would suggest, that you get out into the real world more often instead of sitting in front of your computer all day, because that's what's the real world looks like.
1. Ambient occlusion doesnt excist in real life. In real life we have something that looks more like global illumination (you know, actually light that bounces around instead of doing shadow intensity by distance ray, which is a cheap fake).
2. Even if it was physicall correct realtime gi then the shadows are still to intense at near-collision distance.
Dont try to pul stuff out your hat you know nothing about. You should go outside a litle more ;)
@Capeau It does, except that ambient occlusion is a technical name given to reflect how the computer processes the amount of light bla blah blah( sorry dont really know how to explain) it is given another name. you are right about global illumination but again it is just the name of the process of computing the data
Ambient occlusion in it's most widely recreated form is not how real light works, yes... But by definition Ambient Occlusion is the occlusion of ambient light, which does of course happen.
@Capeau Stop? that was my first comment on this vid until this one you're currently reading.
Excuses? What the hell kinda halfassed cop-out comeback is that? If you disagree with me, and can make a counter-argument, then do it. If not, then you were probably never right.
For XNA Game Studios 1.0, what graphics creator should I use? I mean, what do I use to create everything? Also, maybe it's cause I'm on my friend's vista computer, but when I download the visual c# express sp1 (or whatever it's called, but I know sp1's at the end), I try to install it but it says it has an error and the update may not be for any existing software. I need it to install XNA so where do I get Visual C# Express Edition SP1? Is Sp1 only for xp? HELP!
Is it really shadows, or just SSAO ?

Its just a quick hack.

real time render?
i think i saw this in crysis
ilhadosmacacos 2 years ago
@ilhadosmacacos Its the same effect as the crysis one however the way its achieved here is far more accurate
foeaxe 1 year ago
so its an better but more heavy SSAO ?
ilhadosmacacos 1 year ago
@ilhadosmacacos
not exactly. It is ambient occlusion, the same effect that SSAO simulates, but it is not made using the ssao algorithm, not even similar.
