I couldn't believe my eyes the first time I saw them. Even though I'd read up about Bengals n had read mention of the phenomena, I couldn't believe my eyes the first time I saw them. An extremely beautiful sub-species.. with this, perhaps, their crowning feature. Thank you.
Ahh, He!! My sincerest apologies, Good Furry Sir!!
I fostered a beautiful, but house/feral bengal for Cats Protection a few years ago. I'll never forget how beautiful n humorous she was once she got to appreciate we humans. Does your boy have golden glitters on his fur when caught in sunbeams??
Actually it was a 4 inch wide roll of paper for printing photographs. He is a beautiful cat, and still adorable and playful and affectionate and sometimes a pain in the ass.
my bengal cat is also like that. he loves outdoor and when he comes home he always brought something. snacks, candy wraps, plastic flower, n etc. bengal cat never stop to amaze me.
I LOVE my Bengals. I've had three, but the males bond with their male owners better than the females. they have loving personalities, are super active - my 5 y.o. acts like he's 2 and my 13 y.o. acts like he's 5... If you want something tamer, consider and Egyptian Mau. A lot of Bengals end up in rescue because their owners could not handle this highly active kitty.
@TikkiMayhem great points there its hard to match a Bengal and a perfect home ..had mine a male 4 years now ..he open doors ..steal food and other stuff he like the look of ,,loves water ,,,and hunt the feets of visitors and so on ...but a great cat i have taken in for life
@TikkiMayhem That's interesting because my male bengal LOVES women. I mean he is a TOTALLY different cat around them. He and I have a bond, but it's nothing like the attention he gives women
These shits will get into EVERY thing! You have to nearly CHILDPROOF your entire house. Toilet paper, paper towels, newspaper? My two kids will run through a new roll of tp/towels like a piranaha with a pig carcass. Wouldn't trade them for the world.
Our Bengal cross can open the fridge and cupboards. If she gets into the food cupboard, she spreads packets of cat food across the floor, spears them with her claws and sucks the jelly out. Then she pulls at the kitchen towel roll until it's all over the floor. She gets fed really well by the way...!
Her sister follows us round the house, shouting. She likes making her own games too - repeatedly drops things into shoes and under furniture and then tries to retrieve them.
Bengals are the bomb! I have an old Bengal pedigree and a Bengal-Van mix kitten. (The stud was a Turkish Van. Oops?) I hope to have pure pedigree Bengal kittens some day soon. But for now, Muffin and her baby Kit Kat are the greatest, even when they wake me up at night, follow me closely, and generally terrorize anything that moves.
I have a bengal kitty, my mom thought she would be just a mess and a trouble. But, She has a really fierce attitude and cute personality. She hates things that are bigger than her. She is makes herself be entertained.
Awesome! Great cat. My bengal does the same. He picks his own toys by going through our stuff in the house. And whenever he has labeled something 'toy' it remains in his possession for-e-ver. Take it away and he'll start growling.
Bengals are the greatest. We have one pedigree, and a number of Bengal Siamese crosses and a couple of "Moggies" Our Bengal girl definitely thinks all the cats are beneath her. She puts herself at human level in terms of importance. She argues, rips open boxes and presents, follows us around like a dog and even sits on the bed waiting for me if I'm late. We have a cross that pulls the bedclothes off us if our alarm has gone off, and another that lives on the kitchen cupboards and eats books!!!
@scotlandstewart Thanks for the reply, Don't know what we'd do without our cats (Prefer them to people) They are a constant source of amusement. We are hoping for a couple of litters in a bout Feb. Having kittens in the house is like the "Police Academy" film. We now know what to expect at week five for example, and then the next lot come along, and here we go again. It's great. Just pees us off that all our vets want to know; is when we are having them neutered............ no bloody way.
same here except mines a russian blue mutt. (small domestic normal cat)
wakes me up by licking my mouth if i dont wake up within 10 minutes she will piss in my face, steals and destroys(especiaslly toilet paper or any paper)
buries objects of mine, knocks tiny objects down to play sum "soccer", climbs sides of walls, and steals my food when i use the washroom while im eating.) his favourite is pasta and turnovers, this is my normal cat, any cat can be untame.
I have a cat who will knock stuff off my dresser to wake me up. Ignoring her only makes her try to move the heavier stuff. Its a fact Cats are manipulative and they have trained us well to respond to their obnoxious behavior.
My Bengal eats/steals/takes/destroys EVERYTHING that is in his path. I love him, but he ain't no normal cat. Only take a Bengal if you enjoy living with a 2 year old todler with ADHD for the next 20 years :)
I enjoyed reading your comment - my Bengal is exactly the same! Especially the 2 y.o. ADHD part :) Good to know Spitfire isn't the only one like that...
I guess that they all act like this! Mine too is a thief. He steals emeryboards from my purse, takes any q-tips and pens he can find and shoves them under the rug too. I don't DARE leave food on the counter or stove and leave the kitchen or that's his too....
Yup mine does that too, can't leave anything lying about on my desk or he is off with it. Climbs up on my book shelves to steal my bookmarkers out of books, sticks his head in my handbag to steal receipts etc gotta luv them tho
They have such boisterous (and sometimes needy) personalities. Mine will sit on the dresser, meow, look at me, then knock something onto the ground to get my attention.
lol my grandfather's cat Brownie was a bengal and man was he loud. he yowled all the time. he used to run away with toilet paper and annoyed the hell out of grandpa.
They're hunting - if they were outdoors, they would be catching things like moles, birds and mice. Our cat does that along with taking the opportunity to investigate the "forbidden room" whenever possible. We have to wait for him to finish checking the place out otherwise he gets annoyed :)
Hehe gorgeous Bengal! My kitten Yuki, nearly a cat, is just a pure white domestic kitteh who is fully deaf. She gets into everything and distributes objects around the house, very funny but extremely annoying! She's also really loud as she can't hear herself.
thats crazy id love one i have 4 commen taby cats spose there quite fun not as fun as these bengals sound my nana had a main coon befroe that was a clever cat loved water and the rain for some reason didnt get up to the tricks your cat does tho
Bengals need to have constant attention and clean houses to live in. That room is a Bengals playground... Anytime any area of my house is messy I have accept that my Bengal will play with everything in sight.
lol my cat steals stuff. one of my friends slept over and left her glasses on the floor. in the morning my cat had carried them upstairs and was playing hockey with them o.o
That's pretty neat. My Bengal jumps up at the door knob and smacks it. lol. For some reason, he loves razors. If you put one on the bathtub ledge and walk out of the room he'll get it and take the cap off. He just loves it, you'll find little bloody cat feet prints up until you find him. We've had to hide the razors since. =/
These cats are here to keep us humans busy and entertained. If you don't take it so hard... you might have a blast with your kitty! What would you do without them? If you can live without them, then maybe you should. I love my cats and I allow them to go anywhere they want. They are spoiled and that's what there here for.
