@origamijery This is called taking 'en passent' in other words if an enemy pawn advances 2 squares from its home square and 'passes' one of yours, you can treat it as if it moved only one square and take it. This rule stems from the early days of chess (middle ages) when pawns could only advance a single square on their first move. Other pieces were similarly restricted in their movements. Over the centuries the powers of P, Q & B have been extended to make the game more open and fluid.
There is NO mate in 6. Where did you find mate in 6??. In that final position when Bxg6 No mate in 6. Please check your variations. Yes black is lost. But no mate .
I think you need to work on your commentary before presenting the game - you don't sound like you understand enough about the game to make it up as you go along.
@vortx100 Nonsense. The game almost plays itself and the winning lines are forcing and thus easy to predict. A very enjoyable game, with the move Qe1! supporting e5 and moving over on the queenside to strike at blacks distant k-sideis a very subtle manoeuvre and thus an educative one. Keep the videos coming. THANK YOU.
@jerzysztompka The fact that you can even ask such a question betrays a lack of understanding of my original point, and indeed, chess in general!. I have sent a pm to JNS expanding on my original comment, which was meant to be constructive - but I accept was open to misinterpretation - and unlike you, he sees no cause for complaint.
@tehcoach306 its called 'en passant'. you know how , on its first omove, a pawn is allowed to move 2 squares? well, if there is an opposition pawn occupying the square where it would have been able to take your pawn had it only moved one square, you can take the pawn that has moved 2 squares and is now beside you by moving in the same diagonal. it means the two square jump effectively doesnt count. you only have the rights to en passant once per game though.
at 3:10 how dose he take the pawn diagonally if it's not on f6 it's on f5???im confused i though pawns can only move diagonally if there is a piece to attack or capture? can someone explain?
@tehcoach306 great question tehcoach - that is called * en passant*
it is a very specific pawn capture. when you have a pawn on the fifth rank, the opponent's pawn can move two squares to move past it. On the very next move only, you can capture that pawn as if it only moved one square.
This rule makes sense - it preserves the value of a pawn on the fifth rank. Your opponent can't move a pawn past your fifth-rank pawn since you have a chance to capture it en passant, or 'in passing'
in fact when the queen goes to e4 i would like more f5, if en passant (sorry if its wrong) then Kxf6 defending and atacking the queen plus i got oppened the F file ethier for my rook agains the white king for a future attack or an scape for my king in case something goes wrong on my king side
wait eveyone thumbs up if u notice that at 3:18 when kasparov retakes how can a pwan retake a empty space3???????????????????????????

On 4:09, bishop takes g6. Why is black responding with knight f6? Instead of taking bishop with pawn on g6? I dont see it. Can you explain?
Ajimenez4 1 year ago
@Ajimenez4 if black takes the bishop on g6, white has queen e4 with unstoppable mate
