Twilight is popular with little girls for the same reason disney fairytales have always been popular with little girls, the fantasy of being the princess and center of attention of a very desirable, high status male that they could never actually attract in real life.
Twilight is popular with teenage girls and grown women because they're pitifully childish little girls.
Twilight was popular before all these parodies. These videos came out after long after Twilight took the world by storm. They became a best seilling phenomenon when the books came out back in 2005.
They're popular because a lot of teenage girls want their own Edward or Jacob, people are intrigued by the idea of being a vampire, and... people just love it. Not because of all these videos that came out -after- Twilight became so popular.
