@ItsTimothy it depends, the animation is usually just done at random. But I think there are also perks for that, to make it happen more frequently.

In actuallity it's not TOTALLY at random, usually works if they are within the range of dieing one sneak power hit. However I've never tried doing it with a sword instead of a dagger. There are no perks to make assassinations happen more often, that's for sure
