  • I call on everyone who embraces the promise of green energy to stop being industry apologists for the impacts & stop enabling the wind industry to shrug their responsibility by buying into their “fallacy of false choice” argument. We don’t have to naively accept bird mortality to end global warming. The problem with their argument is it’s like claiming we must amputate the leg to save the patient instead of looking for ways to save both the leg and patient. It doesn’t have to be “either/or”.

  • Let us be clear: the purpose of any industry is to make money. Instead of aggressively attacking legitimate concerns & deflected the argument by saying “look at how many birds cats kill” the industry should own their share of the problem. Saying we should not be concerned about tens of thousands of bird fatalities because other agents of mortality cause more death is as illogical & irresponsible as saying we should make no effort to prevent pancreatic cancer because strokes cause more deaths.

  • He states that wind is inexhaustible but forgot to mention that wind stops blowing as well, so it comes and goes. Therefore, it's not reliable. This is why we aren't depending on wind to sail across the ocean anymore or using windmills to pump water to cattle. As far as the birds, where did he get his stats on the 10's of millions that cats and hunters kill? He also fails to mention that the tips of the blades go up to 180 mph. I can't blame him I guess; he's just selling a product.

  • The birds argument against wind is bogus.

Like the man said, if we really cared we would ban cats.

Wind has HUGE potential. Especially if we can electrify rail, cars, etc.

Now, maybe we need to ask how TexacoChevron is able to own patents on nimh batteries? Its unamerican that they do that.

  • U GO! finally someone who has some sense! wind power will save our earth!

  • The Valdez oil spill killed a couple of birds too, I think.

  • This guy is not lying. Wind energy is relatively benign like he said. Trees and cars kill birds as well. People who want to stop wind mill construction should also stop driving.

  • I'm not apt to even begin trusting a CEO, but it's food for thought.

  • that CEO happens to be my dad and the Kind Rach who r the people sueing him lost to him! and they kill a million bird considering the fact that people pay to hunt on that ranch!

  • All these pro wind people lie out their ass so he is not trying to be accurate just tote the wind companies propaganda. I have see these people first hand and it is ridiculous how far they will distort the truth so they get their big paydays at the expense of the taxpayers.

  • Hahaha. If you're going to be a plant, pick a better name that isn't so obvious and biased.

  • he happens to be my dad! ur so stupid u probably dont even know wat they r saying!

  • man you tree huggers kill me,you bitch and bitch that we are destroying the earth with carbon,so when someone comes up with a possible solution you find fualt in that to ,what do you freaks want ...the dark ages?

  • Wind turbines also attract and kill bats that help protect us from misquito and other insects that cause infections (malaryia, west nile virus...)

  • All the false and misleading claims the wind industry makes for itself work to disguise the fact that it is only a nominal producer of electricity in the eastern US. Its primary purpose is to provide extraordinary tax and income sheltering opportunities for a few wealthy investors at the expense of average taxpayers and rate payers. On a per kilowatt hour basis, wind is the most heavily subsidized source of industrialized power in the nation.

  • u dont know wat ur saying.

  • People need to give birds more credit. They'll see the turbines and grow to live around them. Accidents will happen, but species aren't going to go extinct b/c of wind turbines.

  • This speaker is not accurate. There are different kinds of birds. Raptors are binocular. Pigeons are not. It's the Raptors that are focused in on their lunch and are hit from blades. The blades come down on them, and as there is no natural experience of this for Raptors they are very suprised as they are killed. In Altamont Pass CA, many Hundreds of Raptors Eagles, Owls, are killed each year.
